2010 GALLUP TARGET MARKET REPORT ON
What is the incidence of nail polish usage among women? How often do women have salon
manicures/pedicures? How does seasonality affect the frequency with which women polish their nails?
These and other questions are answered in the 2010 Gallup Target Market Report on Nail Polish,
based on data collected in March and April, 2010 via telephone interviews among a nationally
representative and projectable sample of 576 women and teens (ages 13 and older) and online interviews
among a national sample of 892 women and teens identified as “heavy nail product users”.

Methodology: The report is drawn from the 2010 Gallup Study of Women’s Nail Care Practices,
which includes two phases of research conducted in March/April, 2010: Phase I
telephone interviews (among a nationally representative and projectable sample of 576
women and teens, ages 13 and older), trended to prior studies in this series where
available; and, Phase II online interviews (among a national sample of 892 women and
teens who are “heavy nail product users”)
