Moving can be a stressful task regardless of how far your move takes you and hiring movers can be a stressful
part of that task. In this article we will review some of the different aspects of moving companies and things
to look for when looking for a company.Your home is full of your beloved and favorite things. Their
sentimental value may far outweigh their worth. To place these things in the hands of total strangers can
wreak havoc on your nerves and be very stressful. There are a lot of fake movers out there who would just
pack up all of your belong and drive off into the sunset. You should begin by asking for recommendations
from people that you know. Another good source for recommendations is also local real estate agencies. It is
also a good practice to ask for references from the moving companies that you speak to.

You should beware of any hidden costs from the movers. Ask them to come to your home and give you an
estimate. Most companies will do this at little or no charge. Find out if they are charging by the hour and if
they charge for mileage. If you have to pay per mile it can become very expensive if you are moving a great
distance.People often tend to hire the cheapest service they can find. This is a good idea if you are on an
extremely tight budget; however, hiring an especially inexpensive company could compromise the quality of
their work. Any service that charges way below the average price offered by companies will probably not
provide great service.Sometimes it can be difficult to get personal references from friends or family members
on companies, because they do not live in the same area, or have never moved before. The great thing is that
there are tons of websites online that provide prospective customers with recommendations and warnings.
One such website is the Better Business Bureau. You can find out which companies have provided less than
acceptable service.Find out whether the moving companies are licensed by the department of Transportation.
Other relevant things that need to be given equal attention include insurance, field experience, services,
licenses and more. The movers must be bonded and insured to ensure that the company is legitimate and
         boasts of good fiscal stability.

Some moving companies will provide boxes and packing materials for additional costs. You may want to
consider gathering up these supplies yourself to help defray the cost of the move. One thing to consider is to
pack glassware and breakables among towels and clothes. You have to move these items as well and it will
cut the cost of buying bubble wrap or packing peanuts. Just remember to be careful when unpacking so not to
break the things wrapped with the towels or clothes. When moving day comes it is very important that you
have everything as organized as possible and ready to go. Any steps taken by you to expedite the process is a

chicagomovers http://chicagomovers.podbean.com/

real plus, especially if the movers are charging by the hour. Be sure that you review the movers inventory lists
and make sure that all of your belongings are accounted for. Keep a copy of the inventory for your
records.Don’t… sign… ANYTHING without reading it thoroughly. Take the contract home and read every
single detail before signing. If there is a single clause in the contract that you feel is questionable, don’t sign it.
You may ask the company about it, but if they won’t provide an amended contract, you are agreeing to every
word on that page by signing. Here is the real scam; often, the moving company owns the storage unit as well!
So they will demand payment for the moving services, may even charge a fine for your “undeliverable
goods”, and then charge you for storage fees. They would refuse to release the items from storage until you
paid the entire amount owing to both the movers and the storage company. The amount would continue to
grow as you unsuccessfully called police and eventually had to either cut your losses or sue the company.

Always contact the company first and give them a chance to fix the problem. Explain the trouble you are
having clearly and state the action that you expect from them. For example, if a box of glassware was
shattered during the move, call the company and tell them that you expect to be reimbursed for the
replacement value of the glassware. If this approach does not work, send the company a faxed or mailed letter.
Again, state the problem and the action that you expect from them. Then outline the next action that you will
take against the company, such as a complaint to the Better Business Bureau or other organization in your
country. Set a clear and reasonable deadline for their response (seven days is reasonable). This letter should
not be threatening or angry in nature; you are simply expressing the problem and your expectations for
resolution.Follow through with your next complaint action. This may include filing a formal complaint with a
regulatory agency in your company, posting a blog warning other consumers about the company (it’s not libel
if it’s true), or even contacting the media. Once contacted by the media, moving companies will sometimes
snap to their senses with a reasonable solution to the problem.Once you have exhausted other avenues, call
your lawyer. They will inform you of the laws in your area and the procedure for filing suit against the
         company.

One company that i would recommend are the chicago movers from www.inandoutmoving.com.they have
been providing customers in the Chicago area and beyond with superior Chicago Residential Moving Services
and Chicago Commercial Moving Services at terrific prices.

         chicago movers
         Aug 8th, 2011 by chicagomovers

Consumers put a lot of faith in professional movers, which is why good ones are as prized as a competent and
fair mechanic. As a customer, you are entrusting all of your possessions, prized and otherwise, to people you
may not even have been introduced to before they started taking your stuff and loading it into a truck.

You might have heard the horror stories; damaged furniture, unreasonable fees, even entire trucks of personal
belongings taken hostage by unscrupulous moving companies. Unfortunately, this is a disturbing real-life
scenario that is not unique to any one area or country. Problems with moving companies are all too
common.Does this mean you should avoid using a moving company? Absolutely not. Like anything else in
life, the negative incidents seem to stand out so much more than the positive experiences happening every

chicagomovers http://chicagomovers.podbean.com/

day. Moving can be a physically and mentally exhausting venture; honest moving companies take much of the
physical work and stress out of the event. Use this guide to protect yourself from the financial and emotional
turmoil caused by a problem with the company in charge of moving your most precious belongings.

First thing you should do is get as much information about the company that you can such as:

Full company name and any DBA names (doing business as) How long they have been in business Company
address Phone numbers (local and toll-free) DOT and MC license numbers Company web site address Email
addresses Get references (and call them)

Now that you have your three estimates, it's time to get back online. This is where the Internet is a powerful
tool for the consumer, and where all of that information that you gathered pays off. Many states make it easy
to search for corporate information online. We've made it easy to find each state's corporation search. Just
select the state on our Links page that your moving company is based. If you can't search online, then call
your secretary of state's office and ask for the articles of incorporation. You can use the Articles of
Incorporation that you find to verify how long your moving company has been in business, as well as the
         company's address and owner's name.

With planning and research, you should have no trouble finding a reliable, reputable moving company in your
area. While much of the responsibility of consumer protection rests on your own shoulders, there are actions
that you can take if you encounter a problem. Always contact the company first and give them a chance to fix
the problem. Explain the trouble you are having clearly and state the action that you expect from them. For
example, if a box of glassware was shattered during the move, call the company and tell them that you expect
to be reimbursed for the replacement value of the glassware. If this approach does not work, send the
company a faxed or mailed letter. Again, state the problem and the action that you expect from them. Then
outline the next action that you will take against the company, such as a complaint to the Better Business
Bureau or other organization in your country. Set a clear and reasonable deadline for their response (seven
days is reasonable). This letter should not be threatening or angry in nature; you are simply expressing the
problem and your expectations for resolution.

Look at the service quality of the movers that you are choosing. Are the movers professional? How are they
handling your requests? Are you comfortable with them? Any professional mover company should give you a
free quote before they start with the process of moving your items. Therefore this will help you decide your
budget and how much you need to spend in the process of moving. You should not be charged anything extra
if you have mentioned everything on the quote. Also another important factor to note is if the movers have
storage for your goods. This is important especially if you are making a long distance movers. You need to
ensure that they have a place to store your goods till you can find an accommodation on your own. This will
help to make the process of your moves simpler. Keeping all these factors in mind you should choose your
movers to make the process of moving easy and manageable.

I personally tried these chicago movers and they were great, there prices were good and most importantly they
didnt break any of my stuff.I Really recommend them.
