Highlights in Curriculum Development
For each class that I have taught I have created a full curriculum to accompany the course.
The following curricula are highlights that I feel are particularly unique.
2009 Northwest Vista College, San Antonio, TX.
World Dance with an emphasis in Peace Studies: Dance is a universal communicator
worldwide. Many cultures have responded to oppression and developed paths
towards peace and redemption through the medium of dance. I have identified many
of the key cultures that use dance as a way to conflict resolution and understanding
and have developed a world dance course that focuses on how dance is a path toward
cultural peace, understanding, and conflict resolution.
2009 Northwest Vista College
Dance Appreciation Online: I designed and built the online Dance Appreciation
                     course.
2008 Northwest Vista College
World Dance Online: I designed and built the online World Dance course.
2008/2004 Northwest Vista College
Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH
Creating Culture: an Exercise in Dance Sociology: Students use ritual, myth, music,
dance, art, and spiritual beliefs to create an imaginary society in this series of original
classes. Through this creative process students are making connections about how
dance reflects culture and discovering first hand how many societies express
                     themselves through their dance forms.
                                                                                                          3

2000-2003 Seven Oaks Academy, Fort Collins, CO
Dramatic Arts Students create theatrical productions in this developmental program
for children age 5-12. Children design costumes, sets, and props, as well as create
and learn dances, songs, and dialogue to present in a theatrical setting. The
completed shows were presented live for the community.
Visual Art Students age 6-12 learn about and experiment with art styles from around
the world and how they can be used for self expression.

Paint Explosion! When Creative Movement Meets Visual Art students
age 3-12 create art through the use of gross motor movements.
