IT Business Systems Analyst - HR

environment through water conservation. We have an immediate need for an IT Business Systems
Analyst who will be based at our world headquarters in Franklin Park, Illinois.
The purpose of the IT Business Systems Analyst position will be to provide leadership and support for
the development of effective business processes as supported by new and existing systems. This
position is also responsible for interacting directly and self-sufficiently with user management, IT
Management, the IT technical staff to identify needs, as well as creating a business case for changes to
business systems and processes. May also supervise consultants and contractors.
Primary Responsibilities
Documents as-is business processes via flow charts and similar tools.
Assesses business needs and how better business processes, support systems, and technology can
improve efficiency and competitive advantage.
Develops and translates generalized business requirements into specific business processes and
system configuration setting while maintaining correct system performance.
Manipulates complex systems, such as SAP, through configuration tools to support new user needs.
Constantly works with business users and management to continuously improve or reengineer
business processes for competitive advantage.
Develops a business case for change and acts as a catalyst for change when the business case for
change can help the company improve the customer value proposition. Defines the needs, costs,
return-on-investment, and measurements for business and technology change.
Addresses short-term tactical requirements without losing site of the longer-range strategic
direction and satisfies user and functional department needs without compromising the overall end-
to-end business processes of the Company.
Carries out system configuration changes and coordinates all module and system integration testing
in conjunction with power users and users.
Educates and trains users on why processes and transactions are conducted as well as how they are
conducted.
Develops security profiles and authorizations. Ensure that what is authorized by one manager does
not compromise security for others. Essentially, provides a process view of the system and security.
Works with Power Users to ensure security developed and deployed meets user needs.
Reviews all new report needs to ensure existing reports do not already provide the needed
information. Helps users with reports and may construct reports within SAP or in data warehousing
and BI models.
Expert on all systems for the area assigned.

Personnel Supervision Responsibilities
May supervise consultants and contract analysts.
May supervise subordinate configurators and/or business systems analysts when available.
Experience and Education
B.S. degree in computer science or a degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and
experience.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of SAP configuration experience covering two or more of the
following HCM/HR areas: Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Benefits, ESS/MSS
within SAP NetWeaver Portal.
2 or more years of experience with the configuration of SAP Time Management and/or Payroll,
including schemas.
Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage work
independently in a dynamic environment with multiple projects and sometimes conflicting priorities.
The ability to write detailed technical specifications and collaborate with developers in creating
system enhancements.
Additional Desirable Skills
Industry certifications from SAP or related business areas.
Experience in process design or certification in Business Process Management.
Understanding of SAP HR Security Authorizations.
Experience in the administration and usage of SAP Query.
Familiarity with ADP PC/Payroll.
Experience with the design through implementation of interfaces to other systems and third party
vendors.
Experience with Successfactors employee performance management software.
The ability to debug ABAP/4 code.
Working knowledge of SAP BW and/or Business Objects.
Experience implementing SAP workflows or Guided Procedures.
Experience in the configuration of other SAP modules.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Well versed in the typical functional areas of a manufacturing company.
Strong analytical and organizational abilities, written and verbal communications skills, and the
ability to work with and lead others in a matrix management environment.
The position requires the ability to use tools to design business processes (e.g., flowcharting tools).
Effective communication skills and an understanding of change enablement.
Knowledge of business case development – including the development of return on investment
scenarios and basic ROI analysis.
