Directions: Using the information gathered from Lesson 1 and 2, you will chart 5 careers and their respective salaries to make a pie graph. 1. Go to Microsoft Excel under programs in the start up menu. 2. Give each cell at the top of row 1 a title. For example, cell 1 would be attorney, cell 2 would be auto mechanic, etc. You should have five career titles in row 1. 3. In row 2, under each career, type the salary for each career. 4. Highlight all of your data. Do not highlight outside the data area. 5. Go to the pictures of the pie graphs on the second line of your tool bar. Click on it. 6. Select pie graph under standard type. Select chart sub-type and hold button down to view what your graph will look like. Hit the next button. 7. Select series in rows. Hit next button. 8. Select where you want your legend to be. Hit title tab and give your chart a title with your name. Hit next. 9. Select as object in sheet 1. Hit finish. Go to File, Save As, and save your graph to floppy "A" drive. This graph will be placed in your PowerPoint presentation in the next lesson. 10. Print your graph. The teacher will collect your disc and your printed graph.
