Agriculture Programs
Morrisville State College’s agriculture programs provide students with knowledge
and skills to become future leaders in their fields. Depending upon each student’s
long-term academic goals, students may concentrate more fully in a particular area of
agriculture, such as dairy or plant sciences, or choose a minor concentration such as
agricultural business or diesel technology.
Automotive and Diesel Technology Programs
Graduates leave Morrisville with a wealth of hands-on and academic experiences
designed to prepare them to become leaders in the transportation industry and to face
challenges in today’s global society. At Morrisville, outstanding professors maintain
professional contacts in the field to assure that our programs are on the forefront of
industry technology and awareness. The college has long-standing relationships with
industry leaders in the field, including Ford Motor Company and Caterpillar.
Business Programs
The associate degree programs in business are accredited by the Association
of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and offer students the
opportunity to become members of Kappa Beta Delta, a business honor society, and
Students in Free Enterprise, a leadership organization which teaches students about
free enterprise. Students also participate in the volunteer income tax service and
are involved in marketing projects for outside companies. Students also participate
in MSCEI, the Morrisville State College Entrepreneurship Institute, a student
run, faculty mentored business that offers real-world experience for students, and
affordable business solutions to local businesses.
College and University Transfer Programs
Morrisville State College is a great place to begin your academic career in a wide
variety of academic programs. Our transfer degree programs in liberal arts are
designed to give students a solid foundation in English, psychology, teacher
education, history, biology, chemistry, physics and more. The great flexibility within
these programs permits students to work closely with faculty to tailor the program to
meet their individual interests.
Computer Information Technology and Computer Science Programs
Students who graduate from the computer technology and computer science
programs at Morrisville State College may choose to seek immediate employment in
a wide range of areas, including beginning work as computer operations or Web site
managers, network administrators, computer programmers, multi-media developers,
systems analyst, database developers, IT support technicians, human resources
specialists, corporate communications managers, and may work in marketing and

Construction, Design, and Building Programs
The building industry covers a range of occupations including building and
home design, framing and carpentry, cabinet and furniture making, lumber grading,
landscaping, estimating and sales. Practical, hands-on experience is emphasized through
coursework in construction techniques, energy systems, sanitation, masonry systems,
landscaping, plant materials, foundation concepts and surveying.
Communications Programs
Morrisville State College offers academic programs that prepares students for careers
in communications. The communications field needs graduates who possess a unique
combination of technical skills and creativity to develop publications, produce Web site
content, and create exciting and dynamic graphics and multimedia to help businesses
market their products and services. At Morrisville, students gain skills in writing and
editing, electronic photography, digital image manipulation, Web publishing, graphics
creation, animation, video production and multimedia development.
Engineering and Engineering Technology Programs
Morrisville State College graduates in these programs are qualified to pursue immediate
employment and have been immediately hired entry-level positions in manufacturing,
as laboratory assistants, draftsmen, in troubleshooting or in the sale of industrial
equipment. Morrisville State College’s rigorous engineering and engineering technology
programs provide successful transfer opportunities for graduates, most of whom go on
to complete a B.S. degree in various engineering fields.
Equine Programs
Morrisville State College’s nationally recognized equine degree programs offer students
a variety of experience that combines practical aspects, such as participating in all facets
of the college’s annual yearling sale, which grossed approximately $2 million in 2005,
with quality academic experience in the classroom. Students may concentrate
on breeding, training, nutrition, racing and equine business and management.
Health Programs
The demand for health care workers today is high and is expected to increase in the
future. Morrisville’s health programs offer several alternatives, including nursing,
massage therapy, and sports, nutrition and fitness management. Students have the
opportunity to develop the critical thinking and clinical judgment skills needed
to make superior practitioners.
Hospitality Programs
Students who graduate from Morrisville State College’s hospitality programs are
prepared for positions in a variety of hospitality fields, including tourism, restaurant
management and casino operations and may work at various jobs in hotels, country
clubs, conference centers, amusement parks, resorts and conference centers as food and
beverage directors, bar managers, food production supervisors, or general managers.
Natural Resources and Horticulture
Whether students choose forest management, managing wetlands, working
with wildlife, working in public service in parks and recreation, educating the
public, horticulture or plant science, or use agriculture as an avenue to careers in
manufacturing, agricultural business, banking, accounting and more, a degree from

norwich campus
The Norwich Campus of Morrisville State
College, located 30 miles southeast of the main
campus in Chenango County, serves commuter
students and offers associate degrees in
accounting, business administration, computer
information systems, computer systems
technology, individual studies, liberal arts and
sciences- humanities, liberal arts and sciences-
social science and office administration. The
Norwich Campus now offers its first standalone
degree program, an A.A.S in early childhood.
The campus also offers associate degrees,
academic concentrations and course work that
students can apply to other technical associate
or bachelor degrees at Morrisville State College.
Nursing students have the option of taking
first-year classes at either the Morrisville or
Norwich campus.
In 2006, the Norwich Campus moved to a
new, state-of-the-art facility, Roger W. Follett
Hall. Similar to academic buildings at the main
campus, Follett Hall is equipped with laptop and
wireless technology to enable students to integrate
technology into every aspect of their learning

The Norwich Campus also provides continuing
education and courses in cooperation with Central New York
employers, agencies and school districts. Courses are available
for both full- and part-time study during the college’s regularly
scheduled fall, winter, spring and summer terms.

education, regardless of financial circumstances. Through a variety
of grant, scholarship, work and loan programs, students can receive
assistance to fill the gap between the total cost of education and what
a family can afford to pay. Morrisville State College uses the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial
aid eligibility and rewards outstanding academic achievement through
our Academic Merit Scholarship programs.
