"Make a Lady Bug Activity"
Ladybug Windsock Materials: black construction paper (12 x 18) red construction paper (9x12) white construction paper (4 x 4) for eyes white construction paper (6 x 12) for windsock attachment scissors pencils stapler black streamers glue paper punch yarn or string Directions: Using the pattern provided: 1. Trace & cut 1 ladybug body using black construction paper. 2. Trace & cut 2 wings using red construction paper. 3. Glue red wings to the body of the black ladybug. 4. Trace & cut 2 antennas using black construction paper and attach antennas to the head of the ladybug (smaller portion of the body). 5. Trace and cut 2 “white” eyes. Glue to the head of the body. 6. Trace and cut 2 “black” eyes. Glue on top of the white eyes to form the pupils of the ladybug. 7. Trace and cut 6 black legs. Using glue, attach 3 legs to each side of the ladybug’s body. 8. Using the scrap black construction paper, have the students to cut the ladybug’s black dots. This task is to be completed without a pattern. Glue dots to the body of the ladybug. 9. Using the 6 x 12 white construction paper, roll paper to form a cylinder. Staple cylinder together. 10.Cut each student 4 (15” long) black streamers. Glue streamers to the bottom of the cylinder. 11. Staple cylinder to the body of the completed ladybug. 12. Using a paper punch, make 1 hole on each side of the cylinder. 13. Yarn or string can be used to hang the ladybug windsock.
