Giving Back to Our Community
In these troubled times giving back to our community is one thing we can all do. Andrew’s has been Lantana’s, Bar-
tonville and Argyle’s community restaurant since opening. They have provided the area groups with support in every
fashion. Here is a list of some of the recipients: Crossroads Bible Church, Cross Timbers Church Argyle, Argyle Ath-
letic Department, Football, Basketball, Archery, Color Guard. Guyer Athletic department, Flower Mound High
School, Harpool Middle School, Lantana Ladies League , CCL- Communities Civic League, Argyle Fire Department,
Double Oak Fire Department , Liberty Christian School, Homes for Humanity Denton, Canyon Oaks Garden Club,
Children's Advocacy Center Denton County, Studio B Theater Highland Village, Lewisville Saddle Club, Argyle
Chamber of Commerce and many more.
Andrew's has started a wonderful program of giving back. Just contact them to nominate your Organization,
Churches, Schools, School Sponsored Programs, Civic Groups, and Fund Raisers. Upon approval they will sign your
organization up as a partner. Throughout the month everyone that is in support of your organization will dine out at
Andrew's letting Andrew’s know of the organization they want to support. Andrew's will track the spending for the
month, and at the end of every month your organization will receive 15% back from all the money spent by the sup-
porters at Andrew's for that month.
Support your community by enjoying a great meal at Andrew’s.

As a Director on FWSD #6 - I want to say I appreciate the turn-out at the previous month's meetings as well as
the discussion on this topic in Lantana Live forum. This is the type of community involvement I had hoped
for when the board meetings were moved to Lantana after last year's FWSD election. It is obvious that this
HIHO! topic invokes a lot of passion and a wide variety of opinions.
Lantana District 6 I did want to provide some insight regarding the discussion that occurred. FWSD #6 voted to table the discus-

I started Excite! Gym and Cheer in 2001. I am so often asked ―did I always want it to be this big‖? And my answer is
no! I just wanted a place where kids, parents and staff came and they felt like family and the gym felt like home. $5
As we opened and grew it was never in mind ―great; let’s be bigger‖ it always was the kids asking me for more space or
for more stuff and they drove me to be more.. I love teaching and being with kids; they are my passion . Now; I would-
n’t say they are little darlings always and there are definite times I want to put a for sale sign out front, but then one kid
gives me a picture, or hugs me and I am back to center. with Purchase of
$25 or more
We have so many great families and staff at our gym. And Excite!’s energy is all of us together, it isn’t me. I do come
from a family run business and my dad was my idol. He never complained and worked 6 days a week and taught Sun-
day school on the 7th. He owned a Ben Franklin store that he loved. His store grew and grew but you would never know Not valid with
it by watching him. I remember fondly; him sweeping the front porch (as he called it) every morning at the store and any other offers.
waving to the town as they honked and drove by. He taught me to treat everyone special and how every job someone Wings Pizza N Things Wings Pizza n
does in a business is so important. He trained my 3 brothers and I to do everything from unloading trucks, cleaning the 5801 Long Prairie Rd Ste 870 Things &
bathrooms to customer service and doing payroll. He taught me so much and was such a wonderful role model. Now Flower Mound HIHO TEXAS
that Excite! has been open and we have the opportunity to do more I really am trying to follow even more in my dad’s 972-355-9768 April
steps. He gave to so many people; he volunteered his time in the community and he never knew a person he didn’t con-
sider a friend. I kind of tell you all of this because sometimes when you own a business; especially one like mine that
can be competitive and seem big you may not realize we are just people trying to do the best we can. Excite! is my home
and the people in it are my family and friends. And I thank all the parents for giving Excite! a chance and sharing your
kids with me, it is something I truly treasure.
And lastly in comment but not last in my gratitude to my family that has supported me in this hobby of mine, Kevin,
Nicholas, Alison, my mom and dad and all my brothers.
