How to Build a Web Page at Tripod Go to www.tripod.com Log on using your member name and password if you have already registered. Follow the directions for registering if necessary. Select "Quick Page" (Easy Step-by-Step Building for Beginners) Scroll down the page to the section called "Quick Topic." You will find links to several locations including "Photo Album" and "Company Page," but you should choose the small link to "More Ideas." Scroll down the page and click on the link to "Celebrity Page Builder." Click on "Make a New Page." Step 1 asks you to name your file. Unless directed otherwise by your teacher, name the file using your first name, last initial, and the character's name. For example, if Mary Smith were building a page about Rikki, she would name the file MarySRikki. Once you have given your page a file name, click on "Make Celebrity Page" and follow the directions for completing. Here are some items for consideration: Try to create realistic sounding answers whenever possible. (Rikki would probably not have been born in New York City.) Use your own birth date and horoscope sign. Use links to the sites where you found the information you used to create this page. (You may also link to your own web page if you have one.) Required: Assume the role of the character whose web page you are designing. Write as if you are that character (from his/her point of view. Insert a picture of that character. Use clip art or find something on the Internet. In the section called “A Little Bit About,” use information from the events in “Rikki-tikki-tavi” by Rudyard Kipling. For full credit, include four (4) specific, relevant details. Links should be to Internet sites used for research. Additional sites could be added. In the section called “More Stuff About,” include factual information about the animal on whom the character was based. This information will come from your Internet research in Lessons 2 and 3. For full credit, include four (4) specific, relevant details.
