ALCOHOL RELATED
ACCIDENTS
By Hector Diaz, Rose Potharaj, Omi Losinno, Dan
Harris
TOPIC
We will be testing the effects of
alcohol on people. We will be
giving four people(2 males and
2 females) alcoholic margaritas
and another four people non-
alcoholic margaritas. We won’t
be telling them what they are
drinking. Then we’ll wait for
the effects to start and we will
make them ride a bike to test to
see who was effected most.
BLINDING
The blinding is that
some of the people
being tested are given
non-alcoholic drinks
and the others are
given alcoholic drinks.
They aren’t told
whether they are
drinking the alcoholic
or non-alcoholic drink.
BLOCKING
There are two groups
of 8 that consist of 4
guys and 4 girls.
PLACEBO
The placebo would be
the non-alcoholic
drink.
PLACEBO EFFECT
The placebo effect
would be if the people
that drank the non-
alcoholic drink would
have worse effects
than the people that
drank the alcohol.
CONFOUNDING
The people could have
different effects based
on their weight and
height. Also a big
factor would be their
tolerance to the
alcohol.
REPLICATION
The replication would
be 2 groups of 8 people
a year for 2 years.
