1.   Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois
         $2500 per year for four years
         Must complete a 4 year teacher preparation program
         Maintain a 2.5 GPA for each marking period until graduation
         Must teach in an Illinois school of need for 5 years (have 8 years from graduation to
           complete commitment)
         Participate in 4 Summer Institutes in Chicago (Students receive $2,000 each summer
           for attending)

2. AES Engineers Scholarship
       $500
       Must submit an essay on one of the 2 topics that appear on the scholarship page of
          the website www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm

3. Gongaware Scholarship
       Must attend Indiana State University
       $6,500 each year, a $3,000 professional development account, and a laptop computer
         valued at $1,000
       Must be interested in a financial service career
       Scholarship renewable for three additional years (if maintain GPA)
       Deadline December 1, 2010

4. Call Me MISTER Program
        African American males interested in teaching
        Tuition for admitted students pursing approved programs of study at participating

5. Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program
       $1,000
       Full-time high school senior currently enrolled at a high school within a Comcast
         Community.
       Student grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
       Demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences.
       Strong commitment to and involvement in community service.
       Plan to attend an accredited, nonprofit college, university, or vocational/technical
         school in the United States.

6.   Lincolnland Legends Scholarship

           The winning essay writer will receive a $6,000 one-year scholarship and the second
            place winner a $4,000 one-year scholarship.
           Essay contest gives students the opportunity to honor a leader who has made an
            impression upon the student and has made a significant difference in their community
            in the area of Volunteerism and Community Service.
           Nominees must still be living and reside in Illinois, and must have been born in, have
            lived in, or currently live in the student’s Congressional District in Illinois.
           Online application is preferred. Nomination essays must be typed in Times New
            Roman 12pt., double-spaced and be between 1000-1500 words.
           Available to any high school junior or senior
           All Scholarships will be presented at the Lincolnland Legends Celebration Gala at the
            Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield (transportation stipend included) on
            Saturday, April 9, 2011. Scholarship winners must attend to receive their award.

7.   Illinois PTA
          Two scholarships will be awarded in each of Illinois PTA’s 5 Field Service Areas:
            1st Place - $2,500.00 and 2nd Place - $1,500.00
          Upper 33% of class
          Graduating senior, preparing to enter an Education or Education-related degree
            program requiring certification from a state board of education.
          Application postmarked on or before February 15, 2011.
          Application can be picked up from your counselor’s office or downloaded at
            www.illinoispta.org.

8. Paul Mitchell
        All students interested in cosmetology.
        three $2,500 scholarships
        letter of recommendation from their guidance counselor,

9. Big Sun Scholarship
        All athletes regardless of sport

10. ADM
          Scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,000
          Applicant must be a current FFA member
          Applicant must exhibit strong leadership skills and have participated in community
           service
          Minimum 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale is required

11. Martin Luther King Scholarship
      • Must be a resident of Decatur
      • Must have a cumulative GPA of c+ or higher
      • Must complete an essay

      • Award amount $100, $75, and $50

12. Illinois Dollars for Scholars
           19 scholarships, one from each Congressional District
           Students can win a $1,000 one-year scholarship.
           The winning essay writer will receive a $6,000* one-year scholarship and the second
              place winner a $4,000* one-year scholarship.
           All Scholarships will be presented at the Lincolnland Legends Celebration Gala at the

        Scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,000
          Eligible students: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific
           Islander or Hispanic American.
          GPA of 3.3 or earned a GED
          Have demonstrated leadership abilities through community service or extracurricular
           activities.
          Meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria

          Must be Lutheran and male

           Missouri-Columbia, Ohio State University, University of Indiana, Concordia College-
           New York, or Midland Lutheran College.
