The number of vacancies is subject to change. 2 Place of duty:-Any where within as well as outside the Territory of India. 3 Eligibility conditions for above post are as under: (A) Age: i) 18 to 23 year ( Cut off date for age will be 1st August,2007) ii) Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and 3 years for OBC. For all candidates belonging to Scheduled 162.5 Cms 76 Cms Unexpanded, -do- Tribe 81 Cms expanded ( D) Eye sight The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. They should possess high colour vision and should be free from colour blindness. Contd…P…5/- 5- (E) General Candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. They should conform to the medical standards prescribed by the Force and should be declared fit by the Medical Officers of SSB. The medical certificate obtained from elsewhere will not be entertained. In the event of any doubt or dispute decision of SSB shall be final. 4. Conditions for Ex-Servicemen: For recruitment of Ex-servicemen following will be the criterion:- (a) Physical standard: Total relaxation (b) Medical category: Category-A (c) Character: Exemplary/Very Good/Good (d) Break in service: Not more than 24 months (e) Education:-Total relaxation in civil education but Army Edn. Should be equivalent to matric. (f) Age limit:-Age concession for Ex-servicemen will be allowed in accordance with the orders issued by the Govt. of India from time to time and they will be allowed to deduct Military service from their actual age and such resultant age should not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than three years. Wards (Sons) of serving/retired SSB personnel may also apply if so desired accordingly. Sons of SSB personnel may apply either from their home state or from state in which his father is posted/deployed at the time of recruitment. 5. Selection procedure: (i) The eligible candidates shall be issued Admit Card to appear in the recruitment test. The date and place of recruitment test will be indicated in Admit Card. Candidates will have to undergo the following tests: (a) Physical Measurement: Candidates found eligible in documentation will be screened first for height, chest and weight measurements. (b) Physical Efficiency Test(PET)(25 Marks): The candidates who found eligible as per physical measurement will be required to pass physical efficiency test consisting of following events: - (i) 1 mile race to be completed in 6½ minutes. Minimum marks-4 and maximum marks-12 (ii) * Long jump: minimum 11 feet (minimum marks-2 & maximum marks-6 (iii)* High jump: minimum 3½ feet(minimum marks-3 & maximum marks-7) (* 03 chances will be given) Note: A candidate must qualify in all the above events. Failure to qualify in any of the above event of PET will render the candidate disqualified to appear in subsequent events. No physical efficiency test will be held for Ex-Servicemen. However, Ex. Servicemen will be required to pass the requisite medical examination viz X-ray chest, Blood for Hb, TLC, DLC, ESR and sugar (Random) Urine for sugar and albumen and microscopical examination ECG etc. upon qualification in the written test. Contd….P…6/- -6- (ii) Written Examination: Maximum 50 Marks: - The candidates qualifying in the physical efficiency test will be required to appear in written test. The written test will consist of objective, as well as narrative tests. The question paper will consist of questions on General Awareness, General Knowledge, and Knowledge of elementary Mathematics, ability to observe and distinguish patterns and to test the basic knowledge of candidates in English/Hindi. The written test will be held after PET is over. The papers may be answered either in Hindi or English. Total 33% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates and 35% for General and Ex. servicemen are required to qualify the written test. NOTE: - As the Ex.-service men are exempted from PET, they will appear in Written Examination directly. (iii) Interview: (Maximum 15 Marks) Interview shall be conducted after written examination. Candidates numbering three times the number of category-wise vacancies allotted will be called for interview as per merit. (iv) Special Qualifications-10 Marks A maximum of 10 marks will be awarded to those candidates who have to their credit achievements in Sports, NCC, Scout & Guide and other extra curricular activities and proficiency in computer, diploma in any trade relevant to SSB. (v) Medical Examination The candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions. Medical examination will be conducted after the interview. (vi) Appeal against medical examination: If a candidate is declared unfit in the detailed medial examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Chairman. The rejected candidates will obtain form 4,5 and 6 from Chairman concerned , if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, to prefer an appeal for re-medical examination to the Inspector General(Pers), SSB Force HQ, R.K.Puram, New Delhi, within one month from the date of issue of communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer is communicated to the candidate. The appeal should necessarily contain the following (a) Medical re-examination fee of Rs. 25/-(Rupees twenty five)only non refundable, through a bank draft in favour of “ Accounts Officer, SSB FHQ, New Delhi” Payable at SBI, R.K.Puram, New Delhi- Code-1076 or IPO in favour of Accounts Officer, SSB FHQ New Delhi (b) Appeal form 4,5 & 6 issued by the Initial Medical board declaring the candidate as unfit (c) One self addressed envelope with Rs.6/- stamp affixed on it. Certificate other than Medical Form-6 (provided by the Chairman of rectt. Board to the candidates) to submit appeal for Review Medical Examination will not be considered & rejected straightaway. The fitness certificate on form-6 is essential only to consider their cases for review medical examination and not for any other purpose. Those candidates whose appeal found in order will be issued call letter to appear for Review Medical Examination and their list will also be published in SSB website www.ssb.nic.in. They may keep in touch to know their date of appearing in review medical examination and venue in our website. The decision of the review medical board of SSB shall be final and no 2 nd appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence /2 nd appeal will be given/entertained. Contd…P…7/- -7- vii) Final Selection (a) The final selection of the candidates will be made in order of merit in each category. (b) The cut off percentage of marks for appointment will be as under: General and Ex-Servicemen : 35% SC/ST/OBC : 33% (viii) Merit list List of provisionally selected candidates will be placed in SSB website www.ssb.nic.in. as per category wise available vacancies. 6. Application Fee:- Application fee will be Rs.50/- for candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. No fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen. The candidates shall attach the crossed/non refundable Bank Draft drawn in favour of authority mentioned in column No.4 of Para-07. The candidates can also submit application fee through IPOs to be prepared in favour of authority mentioned in Column No. 5 of Para 7. 7. How to apply:- Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications BY ORDINARY POST in the prescribed proforma given in Annexure-I and II with attested passport size photographs duly affixed on application form and admit card at the space provided for the purpose, along with application fee, attested copies of the testimonials as in Para-8. The applications should be typed or neatly hand written. Two self-addressed envelops of 4”x9” size with Rs.6/- postage stamps duly affixed should also be attached with the application forms.
