                                              FOOD & BEVERAGE DIVISON

                                                          BANQUET
BANQUET STEWARD: Full-Time, Year Round. Works banquet functions, supplies equipment and delivers food
ensuring timely completion of functions. Responsible for setting up, replenishing, and breaking down buffet lines,
clearing and cleaning service halls, assisting with dish-ups and other stewarding duties. Must be able to read function
sheets and carry out instructions from supervisor. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required.
$9.50 per hour. 2

CONVENTION SET-UP HOUSEPERSON: Part-time, Year round. Responsible for setting up table and chair
arrangements and distributing convention materials for groups in the hotel. The meeting rooms are set up in
accordance with specifications from the Convention Coordinators complete with water pitchers and glasses, pads of
paper, pencils, and special items when requested. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Schedule varies with assigned banquet functions, to include: Days, nights, weekends and holidays. Hourly DOE. 2

LINE COOK: Part-Time, Year Round. Responsible for organizing work station, prepping, and cooking appropriate
meats, vegetables, starches, sauces, and garnish to coordinate with menu specifications. Responsible for properly storing
and rotating fresh products daily and cleaning and organizing reach-in and walk-in freezers in an effort to maintain
sanitation guidelines. Must have the ability to prepare specified dishes in a timely manner for banquets and buffets
according to recipes. General knowledge of baking and pastry preferred but not required. Coordination and endurance
required. Two years related experience and/or training required. Hourly wage based upon experience. Schedule varies
due to business demands. 1
                                        BLUE RIDGE DINING ROOM/IN ROOM DINING
CHEF DE CUISINE: Full-Time, Year Round. Minimum 5 years’ management experience. Chef de Cuisine organizes and
leads culinary staff for high-volume, fine dining restaurant. Responsible for food production, buffets, brunch, In Room
Dining and a la carte menus. Responsible for ordering food, maintaining overall cleanliness of kitchen and scheduling
staff. Insures adherence to standards for quality, sanitation and consistency. Must have working knowledge of restaurant
financials and relevant computer applications. Responsible for staffing, scheduling and motivating culinary team of up to
25. Works closely with FOH management to evolve menus and product presentation to meet changing preferences of
our guests. The ideal candidate with have extensive administrative/organizational experience balanced with a strong
culinary background. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Salary depends upon
experience. 1
LINE COOK: Part-time, Year Round. Line cooks are responsible for production in a high volume atmosphere while
maintaining standards for quality, sanitation and consistency. Duties range from prep work and checking in orders to
engineering and developing dishes for our daily menu. Ideal candidate will take pride in his work, have the ability to work
under pressure, and be able to work as part of a team. Culinary degree and/or strong knowledge of modern and classical
cuisine preferred. Involves cooking over hot equipment and repetitive motions. Also, may require lifting up to 45
pounds. Two years or more of similar work experience is required. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday
work is required. Hourly wage depends on experience. 2

SOUS CHEF: Full-Time, Year Round. Along with Chef de Cuisine, responsible for food preparation and production;
buffet, brunch, in room dining and a la carte menus. Responsible for ordering food, maintaining overall cleanliness of
kitchen, and scheduling staff. One year certificate from college, three months related experience and/or training, or a
combination of both required. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Salary depends upon
experience. 1

                                                        HORIZONS
LINE COOK: Full-Time, Year Round. Responsible for successfully executing the preparation, presentation and timely
delivery of any and all designated items from the menu. Must have knowledgeable understanding of fine dining
procedures and concepts. Must practice organization and efficiency and have the ability to work well with others,
involving communication, attitude, acceptance, and teamwork. Must be knowledgeable of sanitation standards related to
food and equipment handling, precautions, uses, and risks. Culinary degree and/or strong knowledge of modern and
classical cuisine preferred. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Hourly wage depends upon
experience. 1

                                                    MELTING POT
ATTENDANT: Part-Time, Year Round. Responsible for the plating, holding, transporting and distributing of all items for
the employee cafeteria. Must keep food line replenished and may be necessary to wash dishes at times. Must have a
neat and clean appearance. Must be efficient with time, dependable, and have the ability to follow directions. Days and
hour may vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Hourly wage will depend upon experience. 1

COOK: Full-Time, Year Round. Responsible for the preparation of the daily menu for the employee cafeteria, including
two entrees, four vegetables, two starches, and two soups. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year
college or technical school; or six months’ to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Days and hours vary. Weekends and holidays required. Wage based upon experience. 1

                                                     STEWARDING
MANAGER: Full-Time, Year Round. Oversees all operational functions of stewarding department. Serves as a member
of Food and Beverage management team, including participation in daily analytical meetings and attendance at the Food
and Beverage Meetings. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating stewarding personnel.
Training of the line team members and development of SOP’s. Responsible for employee discipline and handling
employee conflict. Responsible for managing payroll according to budget. Ensures sanitation procedures are being
followed throughout all Food and Beverage outlets. Assists with inventory and ordering of Food and Beverage
equipment. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the local Board of Health and Sanitation and oversees cleaning
and sanitation of all Food and Beverage outlets. Purchases necessary chemicals and equipment. Participates in quarterly
health department inspections and execute action plans to make improvements. Conducts monthly departmental
meetings. Responsible for the daily monitoring of payroll and equipment expenses. Establishes pars for Food and
Beverage equipment. Maintains regular inventories of all Food and Beverage equipment and orders to maintain par
levels. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Salary depends upon experience. 1
                                                    SUNSET TERRACE
LINE COOK: Part-Time, Year Round. Prepares food for fast-paced, fine dining restaurant. Menus change daily and
feature steaks and fresh seafood from around the world, fresh local produce and both modern and classical techniques.
Line cooks are responsible for production in a high volume atmosphere while maintaining standards for quality,
sanitation and consistency. Duties range from prep work and checking in orders to engineering and developing dishes
for our daily menu. Ideal candidate will take pride in his work, have the ability to work under pressure, and be able to
work as part of a team. Culinary degree and/or strong knowledge of modern and classical cuisine preferred. Involves

STEWARD: Part-Time, Year Round: Responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitizing of china, glassware, flatware,
silver, pots, pans, and utensils. Responsible for the proper storage and segregation of all ware washing equipment, and
removing trash from all kitchen areas. Must perform any other duties within the same scope of stewarding
responsibilities. Must be able to operate industrial automatic dishwashing machine and recognize the proper chemicals
and learn to use them correctly. Desired candidate must be personable, articulate, well groomed and organized. Should
be highly service oriented, possess excellent people skills and be knowledgeable of proper sanitation standards. Should
be able to understand the Resort's objectives and have the potential to achieve employee and departmental goals. Must
be at least 18 years old. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Hourly wage depends upon
experience. 1

SUPERVISOR: Full-Time, Year Round. Responsible for the operation of the dining room during the assigned shift.
Ensures the maintenance of service to meet and exceed guest expectations, monitoring and evaluating service and side
duties, interceding between guests and staff as necessary, and performing various other duties. Maintains a cordial and
refined atmosphere of hospitality and consideration for The Grove Park Inn guests and employees alike. Motivates staff
and encourages a team effort. Seeks to ensure guests experiences are “memorable” ones. Provides an environment of
open communication among staff and quick adaptation to the demands of the business. One year certificate from
college or technical school, six months related experience and/or training, or a combination of both required. Days and
hours vary, weekend and holiday work required. Salary depends upon experience. 1

                                                          RETAIL

                                                          RETAIL
RETAIL SALES CLERK: Part-Time, Year Round. The employee is responsible for various functions related to the new
retail shops located in the Vanderbilt Wing, including stocking, cleaning, selling to guests, bar coding and loss prevention.
May include stocking shelves, assisting in monthly inventory, continuing education on product knowledge, cleaning,
selling products and assisting in promoting products. While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee
should be able to lift and move as much as 25 pounds on a regular basis and as much as 40 pounds with less frequency.
The employee must be able to stand, walk, talk, see, kneel, crouch or bend, and hear. The employee must stand for
extended periods of time and walk on a regular basis. The employee must be able to use a computer, telephone and
calculator with proficiency and regularity. Must be at least 18 years old. Days and hours will vary. Weekends and
holidays required. $9.50 hour. 1
                                                    ROOMS DIVISION

                                                       CALL CENTER
CALL CENTER SALES ASSOCIATE: Full-Time, Year Round. The ideal Sales Associate will be driven by individual
success and target goal achievements, and will have a dynamic personality to be conveyed via telephone interaction.
Must have proven sensational sales skills and techniques. This initial customer touch point role will require the
candidate to answer phones professionally and respond to customer inquiries, possess the ability to handle and resolve
customer complaints, and completely and accurately process sales services which include but are not limited to Lodging,
Dining, In Room Dining, Floral Shop, Valet parking, Spa, Golf, Sports Complex, etc. The Associate will follow training
practices to achieve target sales and capture rates, complete call logs and necessary reports. In addition to these
primary duties, Associate is expected to be self motivated in maintaining current knowledge of resort information and
skills training. Exceptional typing and computer skills are a must. One to three years’ related sales experience
required. Schedule varies to include AM and PM shifts; weekends and holidays required. Hourly wage based upon
experience, plus incentive rewards based on sales and goal achievements. 2
                                                      GUEST SERVICES
GUEST SERVICES DISPATCHER: Full-time, Year Round. Responsible for proper filing, posting and retrieving of guest
valet tickets. Handles and records cash transactions. Answers phones and logs activities of The Bellstand and Valet
Attendants. Logs deliveries of packages, floral arrangements, laundry, and messages. Arranges airport transportation for
guests. Must be organized and possess excellent communications skills and the ability to remain calm in a fast paced
environment. Should have cash handling experience, above average computer skills, problem solving abilities, and display
creative thinking. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. Hourly DOE. 1

                                                   HOUSEKEEPING
ROOM ATTENDANT: Full-Time, Year Round. Cleans a minimum of 15 rooms in 8 hours. Rooms must meet The
Grove Park Inn Resort's cleaning standards. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to stand, bend, reach above
head for long periods of time, work with chemicals and be quality concerned. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and
holiday work is required. Monday-Sunday, 8:00 am- 4:30pm. $9.00 per hour. 2

TURNDOWN ATTENDANT: Part-Time, Year Round. Provide turndown services within guidelines of the Resort’s
standards, and provide exceptional guest service. Turndown duties include tidying rooms, turning down bed and
remaking if necessary, providing chocolates and weather cards on each bed, exchanging dirty glasses, emptying trash,
closing drapes, and leaving room in proper atmosphere for the guest. Must work well as a team member, be able to
perform quickly, and be detail-oriented. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Holiday and weekend work
is required. Days off will vary. Second shift only. 5:30pm – 9:30pm. $8.00 per hour. 2

                                                         LAUNDRY
LEAD LINEN AIDE: Full-Time, year Round. Responsible for providing clean linen for all areas of the Resort and external
guests. Will perform tasks such as sorting, cleaning, sanitizing and storage of linens and supplies. Must maintain the
highest level of hospitality service and quality standards. Exercises normal care for equipment for materials used with a
regard for safety. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; be proficient in computer usage including
MS Word and Excel. High School diploma or GED, or up to six months related experience and/or training, or a
combination of both. Must be at least18 years of age. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work will be
required. Hourly wage based upon experience. 1

LINEN AIDE: Part-time, Year Round. Separates and prepares linen for ironer and feed ironer. Lays out napkins, table
linens, and pillowcases for feeding through ironer. Keeps baskets cleared and practices good housekeeping. Must be
able to read and write as well as understand oral instructions. Must possess good physical motor coordination with
manual dexterity. Must be able to move fast, bend, stoop, lift, push, and pull. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and
holiday work is required. Hourly wage $8.50 based upon experience. 4

WASHPERSON: Part-Time, Year Round. To provide clean linen for all buildings and activities of the Resort. Performs
tasks such as sorting, cleaning, sanitizing, and storage of property linens and supplies. Has contact with guests in a
hospitality service level. Exercises normal care for equipment and materials used, with a regard for safety. The
employee must be able to meet production requirements. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work will be
required. Hourly wage based upon experience. 2

                                                     SALES DIVISON

                                                             SALES
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: Full-Time, Year Round. Provides administrative support for the Sales Department. Will
work closely with two Sales Managers to manage day to day office operations preparing outgoing correspondence,
mailings, client assistance, answering telephones, filing, reporting and other associated tasks. Handles special projects for
the Sales Department. Must be a self-motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired candidate must be personable, articulate, well groomed and organized. Must demonstrate ability to work with
others, multi-task, and a knowledge and understanding of different sales markets. Computer experience required; MS
Word and Excel necessary. Crystal, Cenium and Delphi preferred. High school diploma required and or three to six
months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Monday-Friday,
8:30am-5:00pm. Hourly wage based upon experience. 1
SALES MANAGER: Full-Time, Year Round: The focus is on organizations that will block twenty (20) or more guest
rooms per night for a series of nights with accompanying meeting and food & beverage functions. Organizations are
segmented into the following markets: Associations (State, Regional, National and International) Corporations, Tour and
Travel and Miscellaneous (Reunions, Athletic, Government/Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) Two years direct
selling experience preferred. Must have knowledge of the sales process, the ability to negotiate contracts, and strong
communication skills, both verbally and written. Looking for candidates who are outgoing, enthusiastic, with a strong
desire to succeed and who are goal oriented. Previous hotel experience necessary; hotel sales experience preferred.
Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm; alternating Saturdays. Salary depends on experience. 1

                                                           SPA

MASSAGE THERAPIST: Part-Time and Full-Time, Year Round. Must bring current North Carolina massage therapy
license and North Carolina privilege license to interview. Within one year of hire, all employees must have post-
graduate certifications in deep tissue (40 hrs.), hot stone massage (24 hrs.), and reflexology (24 hrs.). All post-graduate
certifications must be though a Nationally Certified, Approved Provider. Distance learning will not be recognized.
These classes are not reimbursed by GPI. Candidates with three or more years of spa, resort or medical experience as a
licensed massage therapist will be considered first. Duties include providing high quality customer service, pre-setting
and re-setting treatment rooms, performing consultation and post treatment prescription/recommendations for each
guest. Desired candidate must be service oriented, personable, articulate and well groomed. Should be able to
understand the Resort's objectives and have the potential to achieve employee and departmental goals. Part-time is also
available. Schedule varies; shifts are 7:30am-3:00pm, 7:30am-4:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm, 12-8:30pm, 2pm-9pm. Weekend
and holiday work required. Compensation includes: Hourly wage which begins at $10 and is based on education; a
service charge of 15% of the cost of the treatment for treatments performed; additional gratuities from guests; and 5-
15% commission on product sales. Must be at least 21 years of age. The Spa is a completely smoke-free environment. 1

                                                      SPA CAFE
SPA CAFÉ SERVER/ BARTENDER: Part-Time, Year Round. Must be a self-motivated individual, able to take food and
beverage orders and input them into electronic accounting equipment, and able to work well in a group or
independently. Will be required to perform the following duties at various times: Dining Room server, Kitchen/Food
prep-worker, Cashier and Dishwasher. Food service experience is preferred. A workable knowledge of coffee, coffee
drinks, and basic mixology required. Must be 21 years or older. Hourly wage based upon experience plus percentage of
service charge. Days and hours will vary. Weekend and holiday work is required. 2
