The school showcases
These are an important element of the conference enabling participants to share practical examples of
innovation. We are looking to showcase schools across our networks that have innovative practice to
share in one of the following areas. Please indicate the area/s on the attached application form.
1. What are the global competences we should be developing in our young people?
2. What curriculum content do we need to support the development of global competence?
3. How can the needs of all students, including those with complex learning difficulties, be met
in 21st century schooling?
4. How can new technologies support learning?
5. How does social entrepreneurship fit into 21st century schooling?
6. How do we actively engage all students in their learning?
7. How does any of these areas impact leadership and change management?
The themes listed above are suggestions. If you have content for a school showcase that you think fits
with the overall conference theme, please do not hesitate to complete the showcase application form.
Funding for international school showcases
A small fee will be payable to those who contribute a showcase. Due to variable delegate packages and
conference rates, the speaker fee will be 30% of the conference package you have booked on to.
The fee is available for one presenter only. This can be paid in either USD or GBP.
Co-presenter (if applicable)
There is no funding available for a second speaker, but if your colleague is attending the event and
would like to support the showcase delivery, please complete the co-presenter details on the form.
About the deadlines
There are two deadlines for showcase applications. You should submit your application form as soon as
possible. After the first deadline has passed (8 November), the iNet team will select up to half of the
allocated showcase slots. We will select the remaining showcases after the second deadline (8
December). If you have not been successful in phase one we will consider your application in phase two.

If you are successful in applying to showcase at the conference – next steps
We expect the showcase application process to be competitive. If your application has been successful,
you will be notified by email with a request for further information to ensure all is in order for your
presentation.
Registering for the conference
All school showcase presenters must be registered to attend the conference. Please follow the link
below to register yourself and any colleagues. SSAT will send an invoice for the registration fee, which is
due for payment before the conference. You then invoice SSAT for the speaker fee. Go to the
conference website to book your place.
Claiming the speaker fee
You will be sent a new supplier form to complete if you are not already registered with the SSAT as a
provider. A purchase order number will be sent no later than two weeks prior to the conference and this
MUST be added to the invoice and sent to the attention of Nicola Kosmin after the event.

Further information updates about your presentation at the conference will be provided to you by Nicola
Kosmin, Senior Conference Coordinator. If you have any questions, please contact Nicola on

Delegate access to session handouts and supporting documents
In line with the SSAT’s commitment to sustainable conference management we will, with your
permission, post your presentation and any supporting documents on the iNet website at www.ssat-
inet.net after the conference. We will not print or distribute handouts during the conference. If you
would like to provide any handouts on the day, you are welcome to provide your own.
Permissions
In agreeing to be involved in a workshop session at the conference, you agree for your session
synopsis, speaker biography and photograph to be published in any conference materials and on the
website to assist delegates in planning their conference experience. Some parts of the conference may
also be filmed or photographed. If you DO NOT wish for your session to be filmed or photographed,
please advise us in writing at nicola.kosmin@ssatrust.org.uk.
Accommodation and airport transfers
It is the responsibility of the presenter/co-presenter to arrange accommodation and airport transfers if
required. Accommodation is available at the conference hotel. To book this please contact the hotel
directly on 1-517-432-4000 or at kcrooms@kelloggcenter.com and quote ‘7th iNet International
Conference’ to receive preferential rates. Please note guests will be required to pay for all extras
incurred for the duration of the conference that are not included in the conference package.
Flights and travel arrangements
If you need to travel to East Lansing by air then this is your responsibility. Orientation maps are available
on the conference website.
Visas for entry to USA
Delegates travelling internationally are reminded that they will need to complete a visa waiver form prior
to arrival in the USA.
Medical, health and travel insurance
Please ensure you have arranged the necessary insurances to cover your visit to the USA.
