Tom is an experienced online marketer and website optimiser, currently employed as Online
Marketing Manager for Online Republic (formerly iMall Brands Ltd). Tom has been overseeing a large
scale search marketing account via Google and Bing/Yahoo search alliance, email and social marketing
strategies, search engine optimisation (SEO), managing and designing out-sourced link building
campaigns, and advising on how to improve website marketing effectiveness through advanced Google
Analytics configurations, conducting accessibility and usability testing to identify problem areas
Prior to this Tom worked as SEO Manager for ACP Media's Trader Group, and as a consultant at First
Rate - NZ’s first and largest Google Certified online advertising agency, working with a crack team of
consultants operating at the leading edge of Internet Marketing in Australasia.

Employed as a freelance website designer, producing Flash and HTML websites for: Auckland District
Health Board, Paradigm Design, The Learning Curve, Vodafone, Lateral Profiles, and The Hearing
House Charitable Trust. Worked with Lateral Profiles to produce an online Flash that connects
remotely for New Zealand’s first live SMS Txt-2-Screen installation at the Vodafone X-Air event in
Wellington 2002. Texts sent by partygoers were screened almost instantaneously on a large projector
screen at the event.
Advantage Group Ltd: I worked as a production designer in a successful team employed by several
major New Zealand clients, including Sanitarium, Meridian Energy and Waitakere City Council. I
worked closely with the art directors to produce sites to their designs in Photoshop and Illustrator. I
worked on during this time were:
IHUG: Website designer for ISP IHUG, based in their Auckland office. Produced sites and updates and
provided site design services for clients such as The International Laugh Festivals (1998-99). Gained
experience administering Apache on Solaris using SSH.
Toonz Animation Ltd: Camera operator at cell-based animation studio. We worked on contracts for
Disney, assisting in the production of several episodes of the successful children’s television series
Timon and Pumba. Operated an Amiga4000 line test system. During my time here I developed video
and animation skills.

Hobbies, Interests and Achievements
Music: Professional drummer and percussionist with 19 years experience. Currently playing drums
for Dam Native, EASY, Foghorn and previously Breaks Co-op, SJD, one million dollars and more. I
have written and composed songs for these bands and recorded albums with SJD, The Roughness and
one million dollars. I also tutor drum students.
Film and Video: Produced and directed music video for Auckland band Jungle Fungus. The video
incorporated clay-animation with live-action shots. Edited a piece for Auckland comedy group Sugar &
Spice that aired on Max TV.
Audio recording: Using an 16-channel audio interface and digital studio set-up, I record local bands
in my basement, Hotel Vermont Studios.
