                          LEVEL 1


A C&G qualification proves you have a full
knowledge and understanding of the subject
as well as the highest level of practical skills.




We currently are able to offer a C&G Level 1 Award in Introduction to
Hair & Beauty. Please see further information on course details later
on in this Pack.

                     PRACTITIONER LEVEL




Reiki is a non-invasive form of
healing using energy. We offer
both Reiki 1 and Reiki 2
classes.




 The Reiki 1 course is designed for people with no previous
 experience. Once you have completed the course you will be able
 to provide a healing session to family and friends. After at least 3
 months you would then be able to commence a Reiki 2 course
 which will enable you to become a Practitioner in Reiki.

Leading to the award of
professional, vocationally
related qualifications
recognised in the
Qualifications and Credit
Framework (QCF) & by the
industry.

  For Level 3 Courses and above an adult returner’s experience and
  motivation will be considered. It is recommended that candidates
  should have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs
  at grades A-C and have the ability to work to A level standard. If
  you do not meet these requirements, we recommend you attend
  one of the short introduction to ITEC courses above which will give
  you the necessary foundation for further study.

                                   LEVEL 2
Daytime Beauty Courses
ITEC Level 2 Beauty Specialists. This course is held over 2 whole days per week and
will qualify you within 3 terms as a Beauty Therapist. The full Diploma will comprise
facials and skincare, eyelash and brow treatments, make-up, manicure, pedicure and
waxing as well as two other optional units which will be threading and nail art.
Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology. See course details.


Part–time ITEC Level 2 Beauty. The individual unit sessions will enable you to become
a beauty therapist over a longer period by completing one or more subjects at a time.
You will need to enrol on the Core Units: Units 600 (Follow Health & Safety Practice in
Salon), 818 (Client Care and Communication in Beauty Related Industries), 819
(Working in Beauty Related Industries). These will enable you to complete your study
of the Beauty Certificates you choose without repeating these units when you progress
to further Beauty Certificates.
Evening beauty courses offered this year are as follows:
Certificate in Manicure
Certificate in Pedicure (you will need to have completed the Manicure course first)
Certificate in Make-Up
Certificate in Waxing
Certificate in Photographic Make-Up

Coming next year:
Certificate in Facial Skincare
Certificate in Eyelash/Eyebrow Treatments
Other L2 Certificates will be considered if there is a demand

ITEC Level 3 Diplomas in Complementary Health - we are able to offer the full ITEC
Diploma in Complementary Therapies as well as Diplomas in Massage, Reflexology,
Aromatherapy and Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and an Award in Health
Eating and Well Being for the Complementary Therapies Client

If you have previous equivalent qualifications you may be exempt from some units. Please state
these on your application form.

Continuing Professional Development Courses are held
within the Beauty & Complementary Health Department —
during holiday periods.

Courses currently planned during 2011/12 are:

Indian Head Massage Diploma - 3 day intensive course - commences 7/9/11
and an exam date will be arranged during the course. For further information

UV Gel Nail extensions -Conversion course - scheduled for April 2012 - please
see SCOLA website for course details.

                       Uniform for Accredited Courses

Uniform requirements for all Complementary Health and Beauty Courses will be dis-
cussed in the first lesson and details of suppliers and order forms will be made
available.

All students must wear a suitable uniform for the practical component. To ensure hygienic
working practice, this uniform must be clean and fit for the purpose of practical work.

The uniform requirements at SCOLA for accredited courses is as follows:

For all Complementary Health Courses
 white tunic top with black trousers
   A
 And either white or black closed-in, flat shoes with matching socks
 Name badge (from our suppliers) approx £3.50

For all Beauty Courses
 Matching black tunic top and trousers
 And either white or black closed-in, flat shoes and matching socks
