A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to provide daily basic care for
patients at home, in assisted-living facilities, and at hospitals. Classes will include both hands-on experience at
facilities and basic biology and health coursework. Working as a CNA before entering the RN program is highly
recommended.

CNA Program Entrance Criteria
    A high school diploma or GED may be required.
    An entrance exam may be required.

Salary Information
The median wage in 2010 for Nursing Aides, Orderlies, and Attendants in California was $26,150 annually
(www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov). The median is the point at which half of the workers earn more and half earn
less.
