									                                 Sending Your N-400 to USCIS
To become an American Citizen, you must send
   1. A completed N-400 (in black or blue ink; printed or typed)
   2. 2 Passport photos
   3. A copy of the front and back of your Permanent Resident Card
   4. 1 Check ($400 postmarked before 07/30/07; $675 on or after 07/30/07).

The Check:
   • Write the check to USCIS (Pay to the order of USCIS).
   • Write your Alien Number on the memo section of your check.
   • Personal checks, cashier’s checks, and money orders are accepted.
   • Cash or credit cards are not accepted.
   • You can send your spouse’s or child’s N-400 in the same envelope but write two
     separate checks.

Final Preparation:
   • Make a photo-copy of everything in case something gets lost.
   • Make an additional photo-copy of your N-400. Delete your Social Security
     Number and use this N-400 for practice interviews.
   • Put the correct postage on the envelope and your return address. You also may
     want to include a return receipt and insurance (but it is not necessary).
   • Put these items (N-400, photos, copy of your Permanent Resident Card, and check)
     in one envelope and send it to the appropriate USCIS Service Center.
