TRANSIT VISA
A Transit Visa can be obtained from the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington or at an Immigration Check Point at designated Entry points at the Airports/Sea ports and Land Border (Transit Visa on Arrival) by paying all fees according to the regulations. This visa is given to persons of foreign origin who wish to make a short stopover in Indonesian territory and are on an onward journey to another country, to their country of origin, or to join or work on a transport vehicle that will continue its journey outside Indonesian territory. Passengers can obtain a Transit Visa On Arrival, which is valid for stopovers within Indonesian territory due to emergencies affecting transport vehicles and other legitimate causes, resulting in a delay in that journey and verified by the proper authorities. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Forms to be completed in duplicate with 2 (two) passport-size photos and submitted with your passport. 2. Copies of tickets or itinerary from travel agents confirming purchase of either a return ticket or ticket to a destination beyond Indonesia. Open dated tickets are acceptable. Persons stopping over in Indonesia to join or work on a transport vehicle that will continue its journey outside Indonesian territory, must have proof of a work contract pertaining to that fact. 3. Letters of credit / bank statements / copy of credit card to show proof of ability to cover living expenses. 4. Passport must be valid at least 6 (six) months at the date of entry into Indonesia. 5. Fees for transit visa : NZ$ 30.00. Please send money order, bank cheque or company cheque. 6. Maximum period of stay for transit visa is 14 (fourteen) days only. The Entry into Indonesia must be made within 90 (ninety) days from the date of issue. 7. A Transit Visa is issued for a single journey only. Please note: 1. The Visas issued by the Indonesian Embassy are not applicable for the visit to three following regions: Aceh, Maluku and Irian Jaya/Papua. Applicants who wish to visit these regions must obtain special authorization from Indonesian authorities. Visitors who enter those three regions without special permission will be liable to prosecution under Indonesian law.

Entry to Indonesia for foreigners granted visas by the Indonesian Embassy remains subject to the approval of the immigration officers at all Indonesian immigration checkpoints (airports, seaports and land-borders). 3.
