MDH 101
Theory introduction to sanitation, bacteriology, salon operations, communication skills. Scalp care,
diseases, disorders, shampoos, rinses, treatments, head, hair & scalp definition. History of cosmetol-
ogy, introduction to thermal and wet basic styling techniques, care of wigs and artificial hair. Introduc-

bleaching and other hair-color services. Introduction to salon operations, human relations, personality
and presentation. Student may perform specific clinical practices upon certification of skills.

MHD 102
Intermediate introduction to shampoo, rinses, scalp treatments, head, hair & scalp definition, diseases
& disorders. Intermediate practicum for elementary service skills on mannequins related to styling,
haircutting, pressing, permanent waves, chemical relaxing, tinting, bleaching & special affects hair-
coloring. Introduction to sales/interpersonal skills, cosmetology laws and rules. Student may perform

MDH 103
Continued theory with clinical practice on clients related to sanitation & bacteriology, shampoo, rinses,
scalp treatments, head, hair & scalp definition, diseases & disorders, styling, haircutting, pressing,
permanent waves, chemical relaxing, tinting, bleaching & special affects hair-coloring, manicuring,
