PROCEDURE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Only the foreign students (sponsored/recommended by the Govt. of India) entering the country on
STUDENT VISA shall be eligible to apply for admission to a particular course.
GENERAL RULES
1. In the International Students category only the foreign students (sponsored/ recommended by the
Govt. of India) and wards of Indians working in the Gulf countries may be considered for
admissions.
2. Candidates should fulfill the minimum eligibility condition prescribed for admission as per the
requirements of the course applied for.
3. The course on which eligibility is relied upon must be included in the list of the Association of
Indian Universities (AIU).
4. In case the University/Board is not included in the said list, the candidate has to obtain and submit
Equivalence Certificate to this effect from the Association of Indian Universities.
5. All attestation must be done by the concerned Embassy/High Commission/Consulate of the
relevant country in India. The documents without attestation shall be summarily rejected.
6. Candidate applying from their own country should get their transcripts of certificates attested by
the concerned accredited authorized Government agency and also duly certified by the Indian
Embassy or Consulate as the case may be.
7. English translation of transcripts duly attested should be provided/supplied wherever necessary.
8. Following documents are required to be submitted by the candidate along with the application form
for admission to a particular course:
(a) Attested copies of Senior School Certificate/Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree or equivalent
thereof.
(b) All the relevant information/documents, which may justify the equivalence of qualifications
possessed by candidates.
(c) A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
9. Foreign students admitted to Kurukshetra University shall obtain long term STUDENT VISA in
the name of Kurukshetra University on the basis of admission within one month from the date of
admission. A copy of this VISA is to be submitted in the office of Advisor, International Students,
Kurukshetra University.
COURSE TRANSFER
Once an International Student has taken admission in a particular Course, he/she shall not be
allowed to change the course. In special circumstances, an International Student seeking a transfer
from one course to another, must apply to the ICCR/or any other sponsoring agency of Govt. of India
for such a transfer. The students can join the new course on or after he/she is issued a TRANSFER
LETTER by the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations/or any other sponsoring agency of Govt.
of India) under intimation to this office. This change is allowed within one month from the date of
admission and on payment of transfer fee of Rs. 1000/-.
SUPERNUMERARY SEATS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
1. 15% seats in all courses are classified as supernumerary for International Students.
2. 10% of the above noted seats shall be earmarked for foreigners.
For these seats, candidate shall be considered a “Foreigner” on satisfying the following
terms and conditions:
(a) He/She is in possession of a valid passport of any country outside India.
(b) He/She is in possession of a valid visa issued by a Competent authority of the Indian
Government clarifying the reasons of his/her stay in the country.
3. 5% seats of the supernumerary category shall be earmarked for wards of Indians working in
Gulf countries. The sponsoring Indian working in the Gulf countries must satisfy the
following conditions:
(a) Submit a proof of working in Gulf countries.
(b) The sponsoring Indian in the Gulf countries shall submit a Bank Guarantee/Surety for
financing the whole expenses to be incurred by the candidate.
4. The seats earmarked for foreigners and wards of Indians working in Gulf countries are
interchangeable.
5. Candidates to the Supernumerary seats shall be required to fulfill the eligibility criteria for
the course(s) applied for. HOWEVER, such candidates shall NOT be required to undergo
the admission entrance test(s).
6. Candidates under this category shall be required to fulfill all/any other conditions as may be
prescribed and notified by Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra from time to time.
7. Candidates seeking admissions under Supernumerary Seats will have to apply on a
prescribed form which will be available from the office of the Advisor, International
Students’, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and this form can be downloaded from
University website (www.kukinfo.com).
8. This application form should be submitted to the Office of the Advisor, International
Students’ along with the attested/certified copies of all requisite documents mentioned in
the form.
9. In case applications are received in excess against the allotted seats in a particular course,
interse merit will be prepared.
FEE STRUCTURE FOR SUPERNUMERARY SEATS
1. US $ 4000 per annum for a Post Graduate course.
2. US $ 3500 per annum for Under Graduate (Professional) courses, i.e., B.Ed.
B.Tech. B.Pharma, LL.B-3 year, LL.B-5year, B.A. (Mass Communication) and
B.Tech (Printing, Graphics & Packaging)
3. US $ 3000 per annum for other Under Graduate course.
Note:
(a) Fee includes all fees (Admission, Eligibility, Exams, Registration, Remedial
English etc.) except Hostel & Mess dues.
(b) However, in case of Re-appear, student will have to pay the examination fees
separately.
(c) All payment will be made in equivalency of USD in Indian Currency as on the
date of admission in case of foreign students.
(d) Exams. Fee & Hostel fees will be claimed by Kurukshetra University,
Kurukshetra directly from the (ICCR)/concerned sponsoring agencies on annual
basis soon after students get admission.
(e) All fees and charges are subject to revision.
(f) There shall be no refund of fee in case the candidates leave the course at their own
level.
TIME TABLE FOR ADMISSION
1. Last date for receipt of Application Form duly completed in all respects will
be15th April of every academic session.
VACATIONS
The tentative schedule of vacations of the University in every academic session is:
Autumn vacation Sept. 30 to Oct. 7 (for UG & PG courses)
Winter vacation Dec. 25 to Dec. 31 (for UG & PG courses)
Summer vacation May 21 to June 30 (for PG courses)
Summer vacation (May 1 to June 30) (for UG courses)
HOSTEL FACILITIES
Kurukshetra University endeavours to provide hostel facilities to almost all
outstation students. Hostel charges are nominal. Each hostel is provided with indoor and
outdoor facilities for games and sports. Recreation facility like T.V. sets is also provided.
The detail of hostel fee can be obtained from the offices of Chief Wardens (Boys & Girls
Hostels), Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.

STUDENTS REMEDIAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE FOR INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS
A remedial English Language course shall be conducted for all foreign students coming from
non-English speaking countries.
POLICE REGISTRATION
Following documents shall be submitted by the admitted students to the office of Advisor,
International Students’ for police registration in Police Station within 14 days of his/her arrival
failing which he/she will be fined.
1. Photocopy of Passport.
2. Photocopy of Visa.
3 Proof of Residence.
4. Proof of Admission.
5. Four passport size photographs.
6. H I V report.
CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION
The admitted students should note that his admission stands automatically cancelled if:
1. He/She fails to obtain long term Student/Research Visa in the name of the Kurukshetra
University, Kurukshetra only from the Indian Embassy in his/her country on the basis of
the letter of provisional admission.
2. He/She fails to produce Original Statement of marks/grade point average certificate of the
last qualifying examination or equivalent thereof at the time of admission.
3. He/She is found to be medically unfit.
4. He/She fails to fulfill any condition of eligibility for admission to the Course.
