Getting Ready
Are you concerned about the Regents? Well, I’m here to help. We will now be constantly reviewing to get us ready for the regents. Get ready cause here we go!!
Buddhism
Buddhism originated in India and was carried to China in the 1st century.
Buddhism - Reincarnation
Similar to the Hindu beliefs Buddhists believe in reincarnation.
Buddhism - Meditation
Zen -Buddhists believe in mediation to become enlightened. Meditation requires great self-discipline and ability to conquer oneself.
Buddhism - Concepts
Buddhists follow Confucian ethics and stress obligations of children to parents.
Legalism
The Legalist philosophy originated same time as Confucianism and Taoism.
Legalism Philosophy
Legalists assumed that human nature was evil ad people must be restricted by laws. Legalism teaches that a strong central government was essential to maintaining peace and order.
Taoism (Daoism)
Taoism originated about the same time as Confucianism.
Taoism Philosophy
Taoists believe that there was a natural order to existence and all people should do as little as possible to change it. Taoists oppose the existence of large governments and laws. Taoists believe humans are naturally good and should find their own place in nature and the natural world.
