MATTERHORN RISER INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE
Atlantia Offshore Limited announced today that the Production Risers have been successfully installed on the Matterhorn SeaStarâ TLP built for TOTAL E&P USA, INC. a fully owned subsidiary of TOTAL S.A.. The Production Riser installation commenced on August 28, 2003, and was completed on September 22, 2003. The installation included a total of seven Production Risers ranging in size from 9-5/8” to 10-3/4”. The Production Risers were installed in a water depth of 2,800 feet. All of the risers were successfully landed out to within ± six inches of the true vertical length target location. The scheduled installation time was five days per riser, but Atlantia successfully completed the installation ahead of schedule. From the third riser, once the Nabors Work Over Unit was located over the well slot, the average per riser installation time was three days from the time riser installation began until the work over unit was positioned over the next well slot. The actual production riser run time averaged 20 hours per riser. Matterhorn is the latest of four consecutive on-budget SeaStar TLPs delivered by Atlantia Offshore Limited. It is also the largest, with a payload of 11,000 tons and is the first dry-tree SeaStar TLP. Atlantia was responsible for the entire structure, including topsides and installation (EPCI contract).
