Business Development Manager
The Marketing Department of Arnold & Porter LLP has an opening for a Business Development
in the Washington, DC Office. The Manager is responsible for managing the implementation of
Practice Group business development strategies; serving as the primary liaison between Practice
Groups and the marketing department; managing Practice Group marketing projects through the
department and strategically assisting practice groups in creating and implementing their plans.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Masters or J.D. degree useful.
Minimum of five years of marketing experience.
Professional services or litigation background helpful.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Persuasive writing skills for presentations, proposals and other marketing materials.
Outstanding organization skills with attention to detail.
Experience in budget planning and client account management critical.
Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines.
Capable of handling many projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
Knowledge of business development processes in a services industry.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including databases, MS-Word, MS-
Excel, and MS-PowerPoint as well as experience with key research tools (Lexis, Westlaw
Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary.
