      Surroundings:   Nippon Budokan, originally built for the Judo competition at the
                      Tokyo Olympics in 1964, is located at the corner of the Palace.
                      It has a graceful and imposing appearance and is a Mecca for the
                      Japanese Martial Arts.

The competition village for official delegation (NF President, NF Secretary,
Team Leader, Coaches and Competitors) will be at the National Olympic
Memorial Youth Center, which was a part of the Olympic Village site of the 18th
Olympics in Tokyo 1964. It is located at one corner of the Meiji Shrine, which is a
popular sightseeing spot. Every year about 8 million people visit this shrine.
The deity of the Meiji Shrine is the 122nd Emperor of Japan, the Emperor Meiji who
acceded to the throne in 1867 after the collapse of the Tokugawa regime.
The Meiji Shrine is the biggest shrine in Japan with the biggest gateway at the entrance.
The shrine is entirely surrounded by no less than 700,000 square meters of evergreen
forest. There are 247 different species of trees, and one of them is more than 15
centuries old.

Near the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center, there is also Yoyogi Park where
you can enjoy a walk, jogging or doing some exercises.

This is a hotel of the Prince Group which owns 52 luxury hotels in Japan and 10 luxury
hotels overseas. The Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa is the most suitable hotel for
our HQ hotel with facilities for the various events.
There are two other hotels close to the HQ hotel: Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa and
Grand Prince Hotel Shinagawa.
In this area, there are some places of scenic beauty and historic interest, such as Tokyo
Tower, Zojo Temple with a magnificent garden, which the Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa
was devoted to and the Sengaku Temple which has the tombstones of the “Akoogishi”
Samurai (masterless samurai who were respected as perfect models of knighthood and
chivalry).

10.   Insurance

All participants and members of delegations must effect their own medical insurance
and personal trip insurance. The Japan Karatedo Federation and the World Karate
Federation are taking no liability for these concepts. Note that plain medical insurance
is not enough, but the insurance has to have e.g. repatriation option. For further
information, please see Competition Rules Article 18 point 3.

The chief of the delegation has to sign the enclosed term of responsibility and return it
by June 20, 2008.


11    Protective Equipment
According to the WKF Kumite Rules Article 2 point 8, the following protective
equipment are compulsory:


a) WKF approved Karate Mitts (red & blue)
b) WKF approved Shin-pad & foot protector (red & blue)
c) WKF approved female chest protector (white)
d) Gum shield

Groin Guards are not mandatory, but if worn, they must be of approved WKF type.

Notes: In case of the waiver of visa requirements for a stay of up to
three months or 90 days, foreigners are granted upon landing a
temporary visitor status for a period of 90 days (15 days for Brunei).

Nationals of countries and regions that have taken measures concerning
the waiver of visa requirements with Japan for stays of up to six months
in principle are granted permission to stay in Japan for 90 days at the
time of landing. Nationals of these countries and regions who wish to
stay in Japan for more than 90 days must apply at their nearest
immigration authority in Japan for an extension of their period of stay.

In the case of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iran, the waiver of visa
requirements is temporarily suspended.

In the case of Malaysia, Peru and Colombia, it is recommended to
obtain a visa.

In the case of China, visas are not required only for students of
elementary, junior and senior high school in China for the purpose of
school excursion staying in Japan less than 30 days.

my country, duly enrolled to participate in the 19 World Karate Championships, which
will be held in Tokyo, Japan from November 13 to 16, 2008 with full knowledge of the
Statutes, the Rules and the Norms of The WORLD KARATE FEDERATION, pledge
myself to faithfully accomplish the regulations of this before mentioned entity, and I take
any and all administrative, civil and criminal responsibilities of whatever happens to our
athletes, coaches and other members of our delegation participating in this championship,
before, during and after the competition, such as physical injuries, personal expenses, or
monetary debts and casual material damages to the hotels, the venue, means of
transportation etc.


Furthermore, I exempt from any legal, civil or criminal responsibilities the organizers of the
Championships, the WKF and the Japan Karatedo Federation, its directors, as well as any
person, company, or entity related to the event (sponsors, public and private entities).


I authorise the organisers of the event to use images, photos and the names of our
competitors and other members of our delegation (as considered necessary) for the sport
activities and publications of karate, related to the event, without any monetary
compensation.
