Questions About Old Glory. This sculpture is made from I-beams. What else are Ibeams used for ? Gymnastics Buildings Furniture Here is a fun idea based on Mark di Suvero’s Old Glory Building with Forms Now make a model of a building. Brainstorm the kind of building or 3-D sculpture you will create. What will it be used for? What kinds of spaces will it have inside? What will it look like? What kind of shapes and forms will it have outside? You may want to make sketches of your ideas before constructing a model. Use a wide variety of tagboard, boxes, tubes, cones and other pre-made geometric forms. You can learn how to tape or glue them together securely. You may use a flat sheet of cardboard for a stable base and to limit the size of your model. Talk about the forms and shapes you are using. Add your own shapes and forms too. When you have your buildings constructed, add more shapes and details with construction paper and markers or metallic or paint markers. Oh no, you have to try again!
