Potato Council coordinated British trade area
at Potato Europe 2011, Kain/Tournai Belgium,
     7-8 September 2011
Key information for industry co-exhibitors
The Potato Council is coordinating a British trade area at Potato Europe in Kain/Tournai, near Kortrijk in Belgium.
The GB industry is invited to join the Potato Council on the stand as co-exhibitors.
PCL has reserved a central stand area at the event and prepared a co-ordinated stand offering for industry co-
exhibitors. The PCL stand will have a seed and seed export focus and this opportunity will be of particular interest and
relevance to the GB seed export and related industry.
We have put together on our Potato Europe web pages key information, ‘Intention to Exhibit’ form, stand designs and
details of the UKTI grants that are available this year. Visit: www.potato.org.uk (‘export for GB business’ page).

Industry presence at overseas events
The Potato Council has organised a concerted British presence at a major international potato event for several years,
with the primary objective of helping to promote British seed potatoes and associated British potato companies to
overseas markets.
This collaborative approach offers British exhibitors the chance of a more effective presence at the event with
increased networking opportunities. It also creates a more attractive, engaging and interesting area in general for
visitors to the GB stand. Furthermore, Potato Council’s seed and export team do much of the key organisational work
and planning for the co-exhibitors.
Key information
 Potato Council has reserved a central stand space in the trade marquee, for a 176m2 stand, open on all sides
 The stand offers co-exhibitors direct stand frontage onto all main ‘traffic’ routes within the marquee.
 Like Germany in 2010, the Belgium event is expected to be strengthening as a country/venue for the event
and co-exhibitor stands need to be reserved and finalised as soon as possible.
 Packages: Each co-exhibitor will have the choice of a small, medium or large stand area; and all co-exhibitors
will benefit from the hospitality facilities on the stand
 Bespoke stands (med & lg stands only): exhibitors who wish to take space only and extensively customise
their stand area will benefit from a discount. Minimum presentation standards will apply; extra equipment
needed (carpet, wall colour, and furniture) must be sourced from the appointed stand contractor. The stand
contractor will liaise directly with exhibitors who book a bespoke space concerning their stand needs.
 Stand design and build: we’ve appointed an experienced stand supplier with excellent overseas event
experience who will work with us to produce a fresh, visually coordinated and functional stand area for all
        participants.
