Important

   1. Before installing Kaspersky antivirus product , please remove any other
      antivirus.
   2. System requirement of Kaspersky antivirus is
          a. RAM 64MB and above
          b. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above
          c. Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a or higher(WinNT)
          d. Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 2 or
               higher(Win2K)
   3. If a firewall is being used on a workstation , you need to open port UDP
      15000 on the workstation so Kaspersky network agent communicates with
      Adminkit
   4. Each server or workstation needs to be installed a network agent. Only the
      adminkit server doesn’t require network agent installation because
      Kaspersky adminkit already has a network agent.

Go inside NetAgent folder and double click on setup.exe




Click Next to continue with the installation for Network Agent

Click Yes




Type in username and company name in the field.
Click Next to continue.

Type IP Kaspersky Adminkit Server 10.1.103.21 inside server address and click
Next




Click Next to continue.

Select default Group name and click Next..




Click Next.

Click FINISH to close the installation and Launch Kaspersky Network Agent

Go inside workstation folder and double click on SETUP.exe




Click Next to start installation.

Type in username and company name , click Next.

This window will only be seen when doing installation for win98/ME only. It
requires the user to type in the password. The password is only4admin

Make sure there is a licence key same as above and click Next.




Click Finish to restart the computer. You must restart after finish installing
kaspersky antivirus workstation.

Go inside kaspersky file server program and double click the setup.exe




Click Next to continue.

Type in username and company name. Click Next to continue.

Select Local Licence Key and click Next.

Licence key is now added to the installation. Click Next to continue.




This information window informs the user that for file server there is no Product
Interface.The kaspersky file server settings and application can be monitored from
Adminkit.Click Next.

Click Finish to launch kaspersky window file server.

Put in the kaspersky antivirus cd.




Double click the msde2ksp3e_3.exe installer to install the sql database.

Configure Adminkit




Launch Kaspersky Adminkit.

Right click on localhost.and choose Logon Server.




Type in the ip address of the kaspersky administration server . Example 10.1.103.21
Click OK. 10.1.103.21  This is just a sample.

Kaspersky Adminkit will detect all the user that is in the network. Adminkit will
automatically create all the workgroup under the network.

Adminkit download update from internet and share with workstation




Go to the Tasks section , you can see that there is a task created by adminkit called
Download updates. This task is , adminkit downloads the update patern from the
internet and share them so all the workstation can update trough this adminkit
server.

Click Start to start update from internet.

Wait till the update finishes.




The task is now completed.

Setting up policy for Workstation.




Go to the group policies, there is a workstation policy created by adminkit by
default.




Right click the policy and choose properties.

The setting of the workstation policy is important.This is the policy that will be
applied to all the workstation under your network.

Go to the additional tab and lock all the padlock button.Locking this means that you
are not allowing user of the workstation to change settings for kaspersky antivirus
for workstation.

Click on Uninstall password and set a password for kaspersky workstation
uninstallation.You also have to lock the settings so that it cant be changed.

At the On-demand scan tab , click on Advanced

This action settings is , in case of virus detected .. kaspersky will try to disinfect and
if disinfection fails it will delete the virus. It will also quarantine suspicious objects.

For other policy settings, please lock any setting that you do not want the user of
kaspersky workstation to change the settings.

Setting Up Scanning and Update Task for Workstation




Go to the group task , right click on Scan computer for viruses and choose
properties.
All the task that made at the Groups , will be applied for other groups.Groups task
is the parent task.

Choose your scan scop that you want kaspersky workstation to perform.

Set the scanning schedule that you want the workstation to perform. In this sample
the scan time is on every Friday and will start at 12:30pm.

Right click on update task and choose properties.




Chang the update schedule time as above . This means that the workstation will
update the database patern every three hours.Also if the workstation is off at the
time to update, kaspersky workstation will perform the update when they on the
machine.

The task that created by adminkit is for the workstation, you have to create new
task of scanning and update for kaspersky file server.

Remote Install ( to create package )




Go to remote install and right click on kaspersky network agent and choose
properties.
As you can see , kaspersky network agent package is automatically created by
adminkit.

Type in the computername of the kaspersky adminkit machine or the ip address.
Click apply. The kaspersky network agent is now comfigured.




To create packages for kaspersky workstation of kaspersky file server , right click
New > Package.




Click Next.

in the cd and select the file workstation.kpd and choose open.

The process of adding kaspersky file server is the same.

Type in kaspersky workstation uninstall password and click apply. Also type in
password to switch between user and administrator. This is because win98/ME
doesn’t have user account like win2k and XP.
Click Apply and click OK.

Right click on the kaspersky workstation package and click Install.

You will have the option to push install kaspersky workstation with network agent.
In this example , we are going to push install with network agent.
You can also just push install kaspersky network agent, you have to right click on
the network agent package and choose install.

Type in the username and password of the workstation that you are trying to push
install.

After a while , the task will be completed.

XPPRO machine is communicating with the adminkit server.




Right click on the computername and choose Aplications.

You can see that , the kaspersky workstation and network agent is running.This
means that the policy that you created and the task to update and scan has been
applied for this workstation.

Click on Report at the tree view.




Choose which report you want to see and click generate.
