                                                                 With an aging military fleet, much of the testing, development, modification and conversion
                                                                 activity is occurring at dedicated aviation parks such as the Okaloosa County Industrial
                                                                 Airpark located near Crestview. Positioned on 360 acres with taxi-way access to Bob Sikes
                                                                 Airport, the park hosts industrial users such as L-3 Crestview Aerospace, Sunshine Aero
                                                                 Industries, Tepper Aviation, Aerospace Integration Corp. and North American Turbines.

                                                                 Saufley Field is administered by and located just north of NAS Pensacola. Upon approval
                                                                 of the enhanced use lease, Saufley Field will offer a multi-functional, joint use facility with
                                                                 access to two active 4,000-foot runways and serve as an access point for the National
                                                                 LamdaRail, an Internet infrastructure developed to support high-performance research. In
                                                                 addition, Saufley Field is home to several organizations taking advantage of the facility’s
                                                                 more than 700,000 square feet of office space.

                                                                 Under construction is Whiting Aviation Park, situated adjacent to NAS Whiting Field in
                                                                 Santa Rosa County. Upon completion, the park will offer 269 acres with through-the-fence
                                                                 taxiway access to Whiting Field’s 6,000-ft. runway.

                                                                 Additional opportunities are available in developing training and research centers. For
                                                                 example, located in Shalimar just outside Eglin Air Force Base’s main gate is the University
                                                                 of Florida Research and Education Engineering Facility (REEF). In the process of expanding
                                                                 to become the Emerald Coast Research Park and Technology Campus, this 100-acre
                                                                 technology park will support collaborative research opportunities between universities, the
                                                                 private sector and the military. In Tallahassee, the Very Light Jet Center of Excellence is
                                                                 projected to become the world’s first education center dedicated to training in very light jet
                                                                 service operations, commercial aviation pilot training and an aviation test center for analyzing
                                                                 a variety of aviation and security equipment.
