Metals • Metals are an important component of the commodity basket as they form the building blocks of infrastructure development for any country. • Metals include steel, aluminium, iron ore, etc. This segment also includes precious metals like Gold, Silver which are seeing a huge gap in terms of demand and supply & hence the potential as a prudent investment avenue. • Despite slackening of metal imports by the US, domestic demand led acceleration of growth in countries like China provide succour to metal prices. • This sector is bound to benefit from the focus on infrastructure spends and rising consumption patterns in countries like India and China. • Factors like refinery capacity, oil production constraints and geopolitical issues will continue to play a role in the escalating crude oil prices.
