							                       Server Sentinel – AppManager Licensing

Various components of the NetIQ AppManager product are integrated within Server
Sentinel . This document describes the licensing of Server Sentinel and the AppManager
components. Server Sentinel is delivered with many CMP server models. The software
is packaged with the CMP server (Clearpath Plus or ES7000) and is licensed to manage
that single server.

What Does the Server Sentinel License Include?
Server Sentinel includes a license to install the AppManager agent and the Windows
operating system module on all Windows partitions and External Service processors.
Server Sentinel also includes a license for the AppManager/Microsoft Operations
Manager (MOM) connector.
The Server Sentinel license allow you to install
      The AppManager agent and Windows operating system module on virtual
       machines that are hosted on CMP Windows partitions and on PCI blade
       appliances that are installed within a CMP server.
      The AppManager repository, management server software, and agent components
       on an additional server. This additional server, which sometimes is called a
       management server or Sentinel Management Server (SMS), does not have to be a
       Unisys server. With the exception of the Sentinel Management Server, the Server
       Sentinel license cannot be used to install AppManager agents on other servers
       (ES3000, ES7000/100, non-Unisys, servers, etc)
      The Operator Console component anywhere you wish. However, the Unisys
       license allows only three copies of the Operator Console to be running at any
       given time.

License Keys
The license key information is automatically installed when you use Installation Assistant
to add the Unisys AppManager Extensions on the repository server. The license key
allows up to 30 AppManager agents and Windows modules to run on a CMP server. You
can obtain an additional key at no charge to provide additional licenses in increments of
30. (This is necessary if a customer purchases multiple CMP servers and has multiple
partitions within each server)

30-Day-Trial License
When AppManager is installed, it includes a 30-day trial license for most of the
supported application modules. After initial installation, all the application management
scripts are visible from the Operator Console. However, the permanent Server Sentinel
license supports only the scripts for managing the CMP server, Server Sentinel
components, and the Windows operating system.

You can also purchase license keys from Unisys to enable additional scripts for managing
specific applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Microsoft Exchange.
