ORGANIZATION OF CONFERENCES
   Joint-Organizing Secretary, National Conference on Environmental Conservation (NCEC-2006),
    Organized by Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS)-Pilani during September 1-3, 2006.
       NCEC-2006 is the first of its kind and unique in many ways by aiming at a wide group of disciplines in its
       Theme, inviting a wide group of audience and involving members from a wide range of disciplines. NCEC-
       2006 focused on many inter-disciplinary issues such as Industrial experiences in Pollution Prevention and
       Control, Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Pollution, Renewable Energy Sources, Planning Aspects
       and Tools for Industrial Zoning, Community Participation, Environmental Hydrology, Systems Approach
       in Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Planning & Management etc. The conference aims to
       bring the researchers, academicians, industrial personnel, NGOs, and the authorities from State/Central
       Governments on a common platform to achieve the following: (i) to discuss and share the wide range of
       environmental problems encountered in day-to-day life (ii) to disseminate the information pertaining to the
       successful stories of combating these problems and (iii) to identify the thrust areas for developing a
       partnership in handling the unsolved problems on a long-term scale. The NCEC-2006 attracted 100
       delegates from various parts of the country in wide range of disciplines and is addressed by eight eminent
       speakers from IIT-Bombay, IIT-Madras, IIT-Roorkee, IISc-Bangalore, DDIT-Nadiad, SASTRA-Thanjavur
       and AIIMS, New Delhi. NCEC-2006 is funded by MOEF-New Delhi; AICTE-New Delhi; DST-New
       Delhi; NABARD-Mumbai; Hindustan Zinc Ltd.-Udaipur; Tata BP Solar Ltd., Bangalore; CSIR-New
       Delhi; UGC-New Delhi.
