I do agree that mind is the main controller and master but how will the mind work?
Why do we take honey water when fasting? Honey is like a fuel to the brain. Without
any fuel, how will the brain work?
Can any of us with will power be active and does our daily work without having food
and just by controlling mind?
We need to fuel our body and mind to make it work properly. In addition, that fuel
(food) we are trying to make it as per NLS methods, natural and Satwik. Only when
you are healthy, your mind will function properly. We are all normal human beings
with lot of responsibilities both at work and at home. Pranayama, Yoga is very good.
However, can you perform those things without having food? I am not exaggerating
that food is the main thing in life. You have totally misunderstood what we are trying
to do. We are only spreading an awareness that whatever little you eat as a part of
your daily routine, eat that healthy. Dr. Garu himself cooks in NLS methods and
being aired on television, because of which so many people are benefited. Why?
We should always live a balanced life. Do not live for anything.
Just be happy, eat well and think well. Perform your duties.
We are all human beings. There are pregnant women, feeding mothers, old aged
people in our group. We do think about right kind of food for infants and babies as
well. How about small children? Month’s babies, 1-2 years, how will they do yoga’s
and all?
So, if they eat once will that be enough? Can everyone do pranayama and yoga’s?
How will they be healthy then? They need to control their food habits right...
When we are discussing about any food, we are discussing what benefits it gives.
Many of us are working and we would like to take the best when we take anything.

No, it is not a korralu. It is seed like grains we get here in US. It is very high in
protein and amino acids mostly used for weight reduction. It is a healthy option just like
oats and you can have it occasionally. You can cook upma or pulaos out of it as wheat

MYSORE BAJJI (Dumplings)
(Week End Recipe)
Ingredients:
1. Wheat Flour 3 parts
2. Maida 1 part
3. Sour Butter Milk To make semi liquid batter
4. Spinach 1 bunch
5. Coriander Half bunch
6. Chilies As per taste
Non-stick pan with dumpling pan (In Tamil paniyaram tattu and in Telugu gunta
pongarala mukudu). (Available at Prestige Company for Rs.750 in all big bazaars and
supermarkets and prestige show rooms).Put the pan on stove and preheats it until you
make batter in high flame. Put stove in slim flame put batter in the pan according to the
dumpling size. Roast it one side until brown. Do not worry on the top batter will be wet
carefully turn it and roast again. Within 20 minutes, 11 dumplings will be ready. Serve
hot with tomato sauce.
TOMATO SAUCE
Ingredients:
Ripe Tomatoes 1kg
Ripe Chilies 5 chilies
Honey 3 spoons
Lemon 1 medium size (If tomatoes are hybrid)
We can adjust chilies, honey and lemon according to our taste. Grind tomatoes and
filter skin and seeds. Boil them until reduce to half add chilies, let it boil for 2 more
minutes remove from stove and add lemon and honey.
BOBBARLU ROTTI (Pan Cake)
Ingredients;
Spited Brown Rice 1cup
(Mudi biyyam ravva)
Bobbarlu or Alachandalu 1 cup
(Black-eyed brown beans,
Karamani Malayalam, Chawli in Hindi)
Grated coconut 1 cup
Curry leaves 1 bunch
Soak brown rice ravva in hot water for 4 hours. Boil black-eyed beans in pressure cooker
until soft (soak and cook will give better result). Add these two with grated coconut and
curry leaves make batter like idly batter consistency. Roast it on dosa pan with lid until

Oats are not traditionally grown in India that is why it was never discussed in
Dr. MSR’s speeches... However, whatever so-called Oatmeal products and
powders available in India are fully processed food and completely against to NLS food...
Actually Oats are very good nutritional food like other cereals.. Mostly grown
in European countries to fed horses... Actual dehulled Oats are bit hard compared to roll
Oats available in market but very good for health. If such Oats available for you, you can
consume them by cooking them at Lunch... Otherwise you can use rolled Oats (flakes)
which are not mixed with sugar or other milk powders are also can use at breakfast if you
are interested.. (Better idly / Dosa) but not replacement of sprouts... Or any other raw
food intake..
Hope this will helps on to decide whether we can consume Oats or not? For those
who are following 60-70% raw food, there is no need to take them as breakfast... If
required they can consume them at in place of Lunch by fewer than 30% cooking quota
just like any other cereals we consume... Whoever not is managing 60-70% Raw...?
Rolled Oats are bit better than Idly and dosa.. However, make sure you are not to use
fully processed rolled Oats or Oats powder? We will get more harmful chemicals along

As of now, let us learn how to cook brown rice in a few simple steps:
Cooking brown rice is a little tricky and time taking process. Many people have
trouble-cooking brown rice in the beginning. Once you cook regularly, you get used
to it. You must bear this in order get the full nutrients it has. The first step is to clean
and rinse the rice properly and soak in lukewarm water for at least half an hour or
more. Since brown rice is a completely large grain with upper bran layer intact, it
needs to be soaked in lukewarm water for better result.
2. Here you must learn to add right amount of water to cook brown rice. For
cooking brown rice, take double the quantity of water to rice. For example: If
you are cooking 2 cups of rice add 4 cups of water. Any thing less makes the
rice hard to eat and anything more makes it messy.
3. Now put on the stove, cook the rice on high flame for 5 to 10 minutes, and
then reduce the flame letting the rice cook in a simmer for another 20
minutes. It usually takes long time to cook when compared to white rice. Do
not bother about the gas expenditure while cooking. Think about the benefits
of eating brown rice. Use of brown rice regularly keeps you away from doctors
and medicines.
4. When the rice is cooked take off the stove and keep the lid closed for a while
for better results.
5. Your rice is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with any curry. Regular use of
brown rice keeps you fit and healthy. Make a practice of eating brown rice
regularly at your home and make your friends and relatives follow the same.

Hi Mohan garu, As Sravanthi and Suma have suggested you can use the sprout
powder for your kid. You can also mix a little powder with water nicely, then boil with
water (keep stirring continuously on low flame) until cooked. You can add buttermilk to
this, churn nicely and give. Alternatively, add dates syrup, powdered dry fruits (Cashew,
Adam).Or you can mash a banana and add to this. I used to mix this with idly/dosa batter,

Hi Mohan, 1) you can mix in water, makes a paste of it, and boils it for two mins...
When cooled you can add honey to it and give it to her... if you did not use honey till
now... use it only little for the first time.. wait for 2-3 days so that her body gets used to it
and then you can give her once she is used to it... 2) you can also add this paste to curd
(similar to ragi malt) and can give her... 3) you can also add the powder along with curry

Hi Satish, Good to know that you are following NLS from a month. since you
mentioned that your wife had a delivery only 5.5 months back, it will take time to return
to normal... do not add stress to her saying that she is overweight.. The weight that was
accumulated during pregnancy will take time to reduce, since during that period the
physical activity would not be as during normal days and also after delivery we cannot
expect the lady to work like normal...especially if its a Cesarean.
you are taking care not add to more weight by following NLS and hence that will also
help her to reduce her extra weight in a faster way than normal as she is not putting junk
calories...
In my case, I started NLS (like sprouts, juice, dampudu biyyam ) almost a year after
delivery apart from drinking water regularly, eating less salt and less oil, etc., and its now
after 1 and 1/2 that i am reducing the extra weight... one thing we need to understand is
NLS is not a quick or a crash mechanism.. it will take at least 3 months time to show
change in the weight (depending on the fat in the body, etc., ) but is an efficient way
since it takes good internal care of the body like hormones, etc., belly will only reduce
when the fat deposited in that area will burn. she can try Naukasana (as suggested by msr
garu) for that... also if possible practice the basic yoga as mentioned by Baba Ramdev on

One thing to remember is the body accumulated with lots of fat that has consumed in
various forms like sugar, sweets, oil, etc., during pregnancy and lack of proper physical
activity like a normal women. It will add to the weigh along with the baby. Even after
pregnancy for 3 - 4 months, I was forced to follow the traditional way of eating food at
home rather than following NLS... Moreover, I could not exercise for 3 months since. I
underwent a cesarean... Hence, that will take time to burn out... Tell her calmly so that
she may not feel that she is overweight. It is a very natural phenomenon after pregnancy.
I was 65kgs just before pregnancy and then I put on to 83 - 85kgs during pregnancy and
now I am on my way back to 69kgs which gives me lot of confidence to follow NLS....

Hay Satish, I am suma here. Tell her not to worry about her belly, structure and
weight until she stops feeding baby means until another 2 years. Following NLS type of
foods automatically increases milk production, feeding baby regular in 90 degrees sitting
position on floor or tight bed will reduce weight of mother slowly. Increase water intake
to 5 liters and maintain gap between water and food. Secondly, pain in pelvic joint can
reduce by taking physiotherapy sessions. When I got this pain, one naturopathy doctor
catches this joint tightly with his hand between thumb and side finger and moved my leg
side wards. This pain will come because of nerve compression between joints of bones.
Immediately she can try reverse compression with cold and hot water bags cold 3 minutes

Dear friend, I agree the problem is very embarrassing to move in the
society with this problem, let us under stand the root cause of the problem is due
to the accumulation of more toxins in your body, unless the toxins are removed the
problem cannot solve.
You are advised to stop taking salt, and do not consume any pastries any more,
follow all the NLS method, if you can stay at Bodhan ashram for 15 days under the
supervision your problem can be taken care by the doctors.
Have positive attitude, do meditations, pranayama every day, if you have health you
can earn money, but if you do not have health you will not get money.

All of you must have seen Dr. Raju on MAA TV to-day, telling about "DIETERY
FIBRE "I wish to furnish the diets, which are very rich source of this. I have seen many
people taking "fenugreek powder" for diabetes. It is the richest source of soluble dietary
fibre and when taken frequently cleans the blood vessels.
Please note that soluble dietary fibre will clean our blood vessels. I quote some important

What is placenta calcification? Calcification of the placenta is a sign of aging that
can be viewed during placental ultrasound. Will look like white spots that spread from
the base of the placenta until the surface. Placental calcification in fact calcium deposits,
due to rupture of small blood vessels rupture that resulted in accumulation of calcium.
When occur in the third trimester of pregnancy, the placenta is still considered normal
calcification. It can be dangerous if there is calcification in early pregnancy. These
deposits can cause placental tissue they occupy becomes the connective tissue. These
deposits can also clog the blood vessels in the placenta. Not impossible, malfunctioning
placenta into the fetus to be bad. Any intake of nutrients and oxygen that received fetal
semustinya becomes obstructed.
Maturity degree of calcification. Calcification, which is classified by degree of
maturation (maturity), is related to the placenta and maternal health conditions, the fetus
and placenta itself. Degree of maturation is not associated with gestational age. At 41

Ingredients:

5. Any other thick green fruit or vegetable 1 Medium

Method: Grate or make small pieces of carrot and coconut. Clean and chop coriander.
Arrange these three items like Indian flag. Put honey in round shape and arrange dates in
that.
It is favorite salad of my friend’s kids in my parties.
Fresh Seeds Salad
1. Ingredients:

3. Sweet Corn Seeds 50grams
4. Soaked Brown Chick peas 50grams

6. Capsicum or 1 Piece
1. Black Pepper (Optional) 10 Seeds

spoons 1 Piece
Wash nicely all seeds and mix well in one bowl. Cut tomato and capsicum into small
cubes mix with seeds. This one we can consume immediately. Otherwise, mix black
pepper powder in lemon juice and mix with seeds keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes and
enjoy.
RIDGE GUARD
(BEERA KAYA IN TELUGU, TURAYEE IN HINDI)
Ingredients:
Ridge Guard 1Medium
Ground Nuts (Soaked or Roasted) 2 Spoons (10 seeds)
Green Cucumber (Keera) 1 Medium
Remove only string like ridge, head and tail of ridge guard. Wash cucumber
and ridge guard. Grate into a bowl mix with nuts. Serve fresh. It is good for
diabetic and overweight people as snack or breakfast.
BOTTLE GUARD
(SORA KAYA IN TELUGU, LOKI IN HINDI)
Ingredients:
o Bottle Guard 1 Medium
o Pine Apple 4 Slices
o Pomegranate 2 Spoons (Seeds)
Wash bottle guard cut or grate into small pieces. Cut pineapple slices. Mix both in a
bowl garnish with pomegranate seeds. Good for diabetic patients as snack or breakfast.
Hello, good evening. I know these korralu, which you mentioned. They are Isapgul.
Its husk is a good laxative. It is a bulk laxative. We can get Isapgulhusk in medical
stores all over.
Coming to the point of korralu or Isapgul, it is major grown in Maharashtra and other
northern states. Here we use korralu for feeding "Love Birds" which we normally keep in
our houses for decorative purposes like aquarium fishes. As such, I feel Korralu has
nothing to do with Quinoa, mentioned by Mr.Ravi. I request you to kindly not to

any body could have thought of these kind of varieties can be made like this. Being a
north Indian I would certainly try out all kinds of varieties in my salad preparations.
Anyhow, I would like to correct you for the spellings of SPROUTS. Since you have to

Ingredients:
Chick Peas Flour 1Cup
(Basin Ki Ata,Senaga Pindi)
Cauliflower Stems Paste 1Cup
Curd Half Cup
Spinach (Palak) 1Cup
Chilies 3
Onions (Optional) 1
Lemon 2
Coriander 1Cup
Ginger Half inch piece
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) 1 tea spoon
Butter (Meegada, Malai) 2 Table Spoons
Step 1: Cut chilies and onions into small pieces and soak in lemon juice for 20
minutes.
Finely chop spinach, coriander and keep aside.
Make the paste of tender cauliflower stem, boil with curd. Paste ginger and
jeera roughly.
Step 2: Keep above ingredients in one bowl and add chickpeas flour to make
tight batter.
Step 3: Place non-stick dosa pan on stove and coat with quarter spoon butter
place the batter in tiny pieces on it and roast and turn with fingers to other side
and roast until golden brown.
Serve to kids as side dish with rice or as snack as much as they want.

Calcifications of the placenta are sometimes very common, despite diet or
gestational age. We forget that the placenta is a changing organ, it is not static - and
even with half of its function gone it can still sustain a pregnancy and healthy baby.
Placenta calcification is not a good indication for cesarean or induction - fetal
movements, reactivity and reassuring variability in heart rate is going to tell you if
baby is doing well with the placenta, it has.
ALL placentas will start to show some calcification around the time your baby
reaches full term. What matters is the degree of calcification-- a placenta that has a lot
of calcification is starting to get old and starting to kind of stops working as well. I do
not think there is a hard and fast rule about how much calcification is too much... it is
kind of at the discretion of the doctor.
At least, this is what my OB/GYN told me at the end of my pregnancy. My
placenta had signs of "extreme" calcification and some other oddity I do not recall
right now but my fluid levels were fine so she left it up to me to decide whether I
wanted to be induced at 41 weeks.
I believe that the calcification in your child's case is an incidental finding-- this
stuff is still being studied and there are no conclusions. Smoker’s babies tend to have
more calcified placentas as well as smaller babies but not all smokers’ placentas are
calcified. Women with hypertension may have more calcified placentas but not all.
Some calcification is normal. The placenta is considered to be a calcium pump... here
is one small study- remember this is all in the study phase and not much written in

Hi, Yes Sravanthi, I completely agree with what you say.
It is our little tongue, which dominates everything. In fact, once we start following NLS
way of foods (no salt, no oil), once we get accustomed we do not feel like having normal
food with salt. This is my personal experience. It depends on us, if something is tasty or
not. If we cook exactly how doctor garu says, I never find any difference between normal
dishes and NLS dishes. Eating food with salt and oil might not immediately cause any
health hazards, but in the end, they will. That is what Dr. Garu says. Again, it is an
individual's call. Only time can answer this question. If we have a feeling in our mind
that this food without oil and salt is not going to be tasty, it will not be. It is our mind as
you said. Just by having sprouts, water therapy if we are so much benefited, think if we
follow 100% NLS, how much benefit it will lead to. I can clearly feel the difference when
we take food without oil and with even half spoon oil. You feel lighter and active by
taking food without oil and salt. In addition, the taste that normal food carries we can get
almost the same taste with NLS way of cooking as well. Add adding more coriander
leaves, dry fruits, coconut will enhance the taste in fact. I personally feel these are tastier

Dear Samba Siva Rao, I too had this kind of doubt. Like why would nature/God
make food less enjoyable by making it taste less, if it is good for the body. Therefore, I
wanted to know is it that we trained our tongue to crave for salt. Fortunately, I have small
kids, to experiment, of ages 5 and 2.5 yr olds, who are more "fresh" from nature/God. My
younger kid is more of a picky eater, so I changed their diet by substituting salt with
limejuice, to my surprise both of them preferred the modified food items. In addition, my
wife still prefers regular food, so we usually have 2 items one salt less and one with some
salt/oil. I see that more often my kids prefer salt fewer items. Then I try to convince my
wife what we are actually made for. A stretched analogy is smokers. They think smoking
is necessary to be alert while non-smokers know that it is not. Therefore, they too can
argue why I would, our mind trick us to believing that smoking is good if it is bad and

Q. as we all know, now a days the only organ of ours working are hand fingers, but the
problem here is they get too overloaded. I am feeling bit pain in the finger bones these

A. You can do warm exercises for the hands, moving them in different directions in
order to strengthen the hands and fingers either by twisting or rotating or sides or up and
down , but if you do yoga for the entire body it would be nice for the entire

A. Hi Srilatha, There is one exercise specific to hands and fingers together. Club
both the hands little away from the chest, tighten the fingers on over the other and now
separate with force so that each finger of one hand is rubbing with the same finger of the
other hand. This will exert pressure on the hands as well as fingers. Keep practicing this
very frequently to get good results. Hope I made myself clear on the exercise. However,

Dear all, I am glad that my "Radish leaves" generated lot of discussion-16 in total.
If you have seen to-day's episode of DR. Raju on heart, lot of doubts about SALT will be
answered. I have posted lot of info on requirement of sodium from America, Australia.
We all know and Drs advise to reduce salt intake. I wish to tell my experience. After
major By-Pass surgery at Apollo on 27 April, I was discharged on 9th May and was a
given a Diet chart to follow. As per the chart, I have to take 120 Gms of protein (60*2)
daily. When I asked the Dietician to explain me how the diet prescribed by them give this
PROTEIN, She had no answer. I rolled out figures of protein content in each item from
NIN. Then I told her the diet I wish to take to meet the requirements. ie; our natural diets
of Sprouts, Soya etc and wanted them to approve my diet. She was glad to approve my
diet. Even though I know my diet is correct, I wanted the approval of the Dietician and
my Chief Surgeon, to ward of adverse comments from all friends, family members. Do
you think any body will approve my taking green gram sprouts in such large qty after
major surgery, with wounds to heal? Believe me I had absolutely no problem and my
entire wound healed with in month. When I asked them why they are not prescribing

Hi Muralikanth, Similar experience even I had in Abu Dhabi cornich hospital UAE. After
my C-section and before that also when i joined for BP and gestational diabetes management
same answers I got from the management. Menthe sprout are very good for diabetic people and
potato is harmful. However, I used to get limited quantity of white rice and roasted potatoes no
answers from dietician when she saw my plate. I used to grow sprouts beside my bed in my
sprout maker. Doctors used to appreciate me for my consciousness.

do not have to cut veggies into small pieces. It has bigger opening. However, I think if we
put too big apiece we may not get optimum juice output as it tries to push the pulp out too
soon. You could see review ratings of this product. Omega products are one of the best in
non-commercial category. However, it does not extract near 100% juice. After juicing, if
I squeeze the pulp with bare hands, I do get some juice. Roughly, it extracts about 85-

Dear Thiru, It was amazing to know the details of the Vijayawada Ashram. We (5
members Self, Wife, Mother, Father, and Cousin) were in the Bodhan Ashram from
2nd Jan to 11th Jan'11.
I was very much satisfied with the Ashram except few things. I missed Fayez by one
day.
Small administration issues discussed with Dr. Byri Srinivas & Lateef. We were on

Importance of food in life: As U also agreed, food is definitely important in life. You
are what you eat as they say. There is many research data in US where serious
psychological problems like Schizophrenia were cured just by following sound food
practices. Therefore, the effect of food on mind cannot be undermined.Doing Meditation,
Yoga etc: They are already part of the 10 steps of NLS method and richly complement
the efforts for a healthy life.
1. Too much, Focus on Food: See, when you take up some change, for a while You
are pre - occupied with that change in a big way. That does not mean that the
change being taken up is not worth it. For example when you first start learning
riding a bicycle, your whole day or days you keep thinking about it. That passion
helps you learn it faster and gives you enjoyment too. However, once you master
it, it becomes a routine affair. Similarly when the group members they are rightly
focused on it take up this change to a perfect NLS method. However, since it has
various facets and the temptations to drag one away from it abound in the
prevailing society, the discussions and interactions keep up their spirit and the
focus. One thing is certain.... what ever you do, whether it is your profession, job,
yoga, meditation, social service...whatever, You can definitely do it Better by
following the NLS. If you are competent in keeping up the spirit and the focus

it is a centrifugal juicer. I am also using the similar Juicer; please see the picture here that

It does not require cutting the vegetables including carrot, beetroot, apple etc.
Centrifugal juicers work well with most fruits and vegetables, with the exception of leafy
greens and wheat grass.
I just want to request the Dr. MSR NLS followers in USA for ordering and using the
Single Gear Juicer, since this juicer is not available across anywhere in India, UAE. If
any manufacturer in Ludhiana (Punjab) aware of this, it would have been in
India market.
I want to buy Single gear Juicer (Samson/Omega) during my visit to USA in April. This
is helpful in making leafy vegetables including grass and soymilk. This type of juicer
protects the complete nutrients compared to Centrifugal and produces at least 20% more
juice.

I prepared green veg salad with Capsicum, as i got it fresh and cheap. It can be
eaten raw and tastes good. I added tomatoes, onion, radish, cucumber, few green chilies
and finally curd (no fat) and limejuice to taste. A bowl full with rotis is my dinner. We

CHAKKARA PONGAL
Ingredients:
1. Brown Rice 1 Cup
2. Whole Green Gram ¾ Cup
3. Water 1 Cup
4. Milk 2 Cups
5. Milk Cream 2 Spoons (Optional)

7. Dates Paste ½ Cup

simmer flame, mix cardamoms powder, and milk cream. Switch of stove and mix dates paste
