Peter T. Madigan Peter Madigan has more than 20 years of experience in Washington politics. Mr. Madigan has worked on Capitol Hill in the Reagan and Bush Administrations, and has years of experience representing clients before both branches of the U.S. Government. Mr. Madigan understands how Washington makes policy and how to tailor strategy to maximize our client’s business objectives. Prior to joining Peck, Madigan, Jones & Stewart, Mr. Madigan served on the Bush/Cheney Transition team as Chief of Staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick. Prior to his transition responsibilities, Mr. Madigan was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Boland & Madigan, Inc., a leading Washington, D.C. government affairs firm. During the Reagan Administration, Mr. Madigan served at the Department of State as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs. In this position, Mr. Madigan was the second highest-ranking officer assisting Secretary of State James A. Baker, III with respect to all legislative and policy strategy, as well as political matters. Upon leaving the Department, Secretary Baker awarded him the Foreign Affairs Award for Public Service. Mr. Madigan also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Legislative Affairs. From 1984 to 1985, Mr. Madigan served as Legislative Director of the National Association of Realtors, where he was responsible for all banking, budget and tax legislation. From 1983 to 1985, Mr. Madigan was Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services, and then Legislative Assistant to the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, David A. Stockman. Mr. Madigan served as the Floor Assistant to the House Republican Chief Deputy Whip. In this capacity Mr. Madigan assisted the Republican Leadership in passing President Reagan’s early budget reform legislative packages. Mr. Madigan serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Republican Institute, assisting democratic movements throughout the world. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting and Political Science from the University of Maine.
