Features

The Series 9000 surface choke valves are ideally suited to the majority of choke applications in the well head
of	oil	and	gas	industries.	Normally,	3	phased	choke	fluids	(hydrocarbon	gas,	oil	and	send	&	water)	enables	the	
flow	velocity	to	be	controlled	through	the	valve	by	the	various	multi-hole,	multi-stage	cage	trim	(Tendril	Trim)	
and conventional Cage trim.

The Series 9000 design combines features such as a wide range of 'OMEGA' trim (labyrinth disk stack trim)
designs. This means it is ideally suited to meet the various severe service choke process control requirements
that are demanded from a wide range of oil and gas industry related applications.

Series 9000 Choke Valves are:

Applications for 'OMEGA' Trim
'OMEGA' (Labyrinth) Trim
The 'OMEGA' trim design presents a multi-passage, multi-
turns disk stack trim. There are multi turn designs avail-
able depending on pressure drop and choke services. The
wide	fluid	passes	through	the	flow	passage	generated	by	
incorporating	angled	flats	onto	the	surface	of	the	plug,	to-
gether with a cut out on the internal diameter of the seat.
The pressure drop is apportioned across the stacks of
letdown so that the pressure drop progressively reduces
as it passes through the stacks of the trim. This gives
excellent resistance to cavitation on high pressure drop
applications. For very high pressure drop applications the
disc stack, plug and seat insert would be solid tungsten
carbide or glass metallic and other alloy steel.



Applications for 'Tendril' Trim
Sometimes, the best selection will be multi-hole and multi-
stage cage trim applied choke valve. J Flow Controls, LLC
provides	flexible	trim	design	application	to	meet	choke	
service conditions.
This 'Tendril' trim gives excellent resistance to cavitation
on high pressure drop choke applications. For very high
pressure drop applications, the cage (stage), plug and
seat insert would be solid tungsten carbide or glass metal-
lic and other alloy steel.
