Description/project Registration System (RGS) A secure system deployed Province wide that
was used for validating, storing and maintaining permits of all Casino
workers. It allowed security checks on the applicants and stored data on
‘Persons of interest’ and photos. It was also used to print out time-sensitive
security cards for all Casino workers in the province.
Your role Application developer, Consultant and System support person. Designed
the complete application and deployed it within offices around the province.
Initially started as a MS Access app but was migrated to VB and a centrally
located SQL 7 and finally SQL 2000 databases. Program had over 65
authorized users.

Description/project A complete Point of Sale and integrated to an existing accounting system
(ACPAC). The application was created to handle Dairy’s unique invoicing
and taxing protocol (taxed on butterfat sold). Package was originally
created for Royal Oak Dairy but was also sold to 7 other provincial dairies.
(Avalon, Chilliwack Milk Maid, Port Alberni Dairies etc…)

Description/project ROTA Judge Rotation Scheduling System. The application was used to
schedule the sitting dates, travel times, holiday scheduling of all judges,
through out the province. The application was written in VB and was
centrally connected to a MS SQL database.
Your role Application developer, Consultant. The system had been written a few
years before and had run on a Data-Point, Telnet system. The application
was then migrated to VB 6 with a MS SQL 7 server
Dates worked. 1998 to 2000
Technologies used Windows NT Server, MS SQL 7, VB 6. Supported a 20 modem
connections and an unlimited number of LAN connections. Had a custom
modem pool/queuing system and could guarantee a 10 minute turn-around
time to places like the Dawson Creek Court House.

Description/project FIRST An internal management system for their main office in Mission.
This program, imported the data from all the stores in Western Canada
and produced reports and Graphs of current sales, trends, statistical
charts

out the lower mainland and Island.

Description/project Created an extensive set of programs, built on top of three integrated
Novell networks. The application user interface was designed in
SmartWare, FoxPro and used CoSession communications package to
connect between the central and remote offices. The application had
modules that handled Staffing, Staff Holiday scheduling, Capital Projects,
Requisition Management, Oil, Gas and Electrical consumption, Field and
School Rentals and ongoing Scheduled school maintenance.
The program package ran on two interconnected sites, through 8
departments and was used by fifty to sixty operators on a daily
bases.

summarize data to produce reports for Ministers, senior staff members or the
government web sites, at a moments notice. The information was extracted using
TOAD, SQL Plus, and direct ADO-OLE using custom applications.

Symons, empty or unused keys, bad data etc,

Created Oracle Functions and Procedures related to data extraction.
Designed mini-applications, to run Ad hoc custom reports or add functionality
beyond the current products, Figaro and Cage. Some application will be used as
templates for re-designing the products in future releases.
