GREEN RIDER RANCH CUTTING-

A rider is eligible for this class if they meet all of the ARHA Youth or Green Rider eligibility requirements
and have not accrued monies or more than 10 points in any sanctioned cutting or ranch cutting.
A rider is no longer eligible if they win the class according to ARHA rules. This class will be run according
to the ARHA ranch cutting rules with the following exceptions.

EXCEPTIONS:
Riders are allowed to use two hands, regardless of horse’s age.
A three point penalty will be assessed if exhibitor loses cow back to the herd.
Exhibitor should go back into the herd and get the same cow and continue working.
A three point penalty will be assessed if the exhibitor changes cows.
A five point penalty will be assessed if cow is not penned within the 2 1/2 minute time limit.
Auditory help is allowed by turn back riders, herd holders and/or people outside of the arena.

POINT SYSTEM FOR GREEN RIDER RANCH CUTTING

Rider will be awarded a score from the judge, for successfully completing the ranch cutting class. The scores
will then dictate how the class is placed. For EMRHA purposes, this score will then have 40 points deducted
from it, with the resulting number being the “points” that the rider will accumulate in Green Rider Ranch
Cutting points. Rider must move up to the next available division, in the next calendar year after 100 points
are accrued.
If a rider points out of the Green Rider Ranch Cutting class during the year, he/she may finish the year in the
Green Rider division.
Example: Rider receives a score of 60 from the judge. For EMRHA Green Ranch Cutting points, the rider
will receive 20 points (60-40 = 20 points).

GREEN RIDER WORKING RANCH HORSE-

A rider is eligible for this class if they meet all of the ARHA Youth or Green Rider eligibility requirements

the fence in competition.

that work is complete, by blowing the whistle.
