New home kit of FC “Shakhtar” from Nike: club traditions in combination with modern team
On Friday, July 8, 2011, Nike represented in Ukraine by the official ambassador “Delta Sport”
company, presented new home football kit of the club “Shakhtar”, Donetsk of 2011-2012 season. The
kit presentation was held on the “Donbass Arena” stadium in evening with participation of club
management and players.
As last year, the dominant color of the kit became orange. In front the orange color is cut through with black
stripes that symbolize an exit from mines to sun light and new achievements. The kit is made according with
the principles of Considered Design: producing high performance product with minimal environmental
impact. The fabric made to produce the kits is made from 100 percent recycled polyester with 8 plastic bottle
producing one shirt. On the inner side of the shirt under the club logo the line “Everything for victory” is
written, that highlights players’ ambitions and their aspiration to win.
An additional point is that the kit is made using the latest Nike innovation developments. The new generation
of Dri-FIT fabric helps keep players drier and cooler in the heat of compeition. Laser perforation and mesh
parts provide ventilation and lighten the kit.
The style addition to the Nike kits is the jacket in colors of FC “Shakhtar” with team logo on the chest. In
these jackets teams usually go to the line-up, and it is they who become a cult of all football fans, inspiring
the traditional football style.
