Net proceeds from Fiesta Del Mar Hills will go to the Del Mar Hills PTA to fund extra
educational supplies, materials and activities. The PTA may then donate a portion to the
DMSEF to help fund the exceptional programs at our diverse, neighborhood school. Both are

Dear Del Mar Hills Academy Supporters and Friends,

Welcome to our Sixth Annual Fiesta Del Mar Hills! Tonight is the result of the
collective efforts of our community, led by Fiesta Co-Chairs, Melanie Carmosino and
Sandra Hoyle. This special event continues to be a focused TEAM effort from our
parents, staff, and most importantly, our students!

Our mutual enthusiasm for DMHA’s quality programs brings us together tonight.
California continues to experience a financial crisis—one that profoundly impacts
education. We anticipate far less funding for the 2011-2012 school year. Your
generosity will have a positive impact on our students by supplementing the lost
finances that the school normally would receive.

Our children have enjoyed one of the finest and most innovative programs offered in
the state of California. Most of the items available this evening are a result of the
creative talents of our incredible students and parents!

Tonight, you have an opportunity to enjoy friends, have fun and the support the BEST
in public education for your student. Thank you for joining the festivities and for all
that you do for our unique, flourishing school.

Warm regards,

Susan Fitzpatrick

Dear Del Mar Hills Families,

Welcome to Fiesta Del Mar Hills 2011! This event has always been about community
building and fun, and with the hard work of the committee, this year’s party promises
to deliver both! The big bonus is that Fiesta 2011 will also raise a lot of money for the
Del Mar Hills PTA and all of the wonderful programs our PTA funds.

All of the volunteers have done a superb job ensuring Fiesta this year will be the most
memorable yet. Our co-chairs Melanie Carmosino and Sandra Hoyle are truly a force,
and have done a fantastic job making sure every detail is perfect tonight. Gemma
Jongsma and Michelle Sargent, as donations co-chairs, have assembled an incredible list
of fabulous items. Asta Sutton, as Classroom Art chair, helped to organize a spectacular
array of children’s art projects that create a snapshot into your child’s life this year. The
PTA would like to thank all of the donors from our long list of exciting auction items.
There are some spectacular bargains to be had, so bid often and you may take home
some treasures!

Fiesta is our once-a-year opportunity for parents and teachers to celebrate, together, the
magical school environment our kids enjoy. Thank you for attending Fiesta and
supporting Del Mar Hills Academy and the PTA.

Did you know our PTA’s VP of Communications is also a talented photographer? Bill
Morris has captured two beautiful scenes of Del Mar, each printed on 20"x 30" Fuji

Del Mar beach—when the tide is low, and the sun is low in the western sky—and seen
that the wet sand actually reflects the cliffs and the homes on the cliffs? Have you then
risked a lifeguard intervention by running around with a camera pointed at the ground
taking pictures of these reflections? Bill Morris does it all the time (and people give him
a WIDE berth, which suits him well as it keeps their footprints out of his photos). You
can then hang one of these beautiful scenes in your home.
