					        World Champion Crowned at SKYY Flair Global

                                  Challenge Finals
 Danilo Oribe de la Puente from Uruguay has been honoured champion of
        the SKYY Flair Global Challenge in Shanghai on October 24 th .


The competition saw the best flair bartenders from around the world compete in the third

annual SKYY Flair Global Challenge. The Challenge recognizes and rewards the ‘art of flair’

which is high-energy performance bartending often witnessed in premium cocktail bars, clubs

and restaurants. Flair bartending has been given glamour by SKYY Vodka over the past few

years through the SKYY Flair Global Challenge.



The global final of the challenge in Shanghai saw seven out of 17 qualified contenders from

countries such as Spain, Germany, South Africa, Japan and China competing to win the

prestigious title. Danilo Oribe de la Puente from Uruguay became proud champion of the

SKYY Flair Challenge 2009 and was awarded a top prize of €7,000. Tomasc Malek, current

SKYY Flair Global Challenge champion representing Ireland, won the second place and the

third winner was Marco Canova, SKYY Flair Global Challenge champion representing the United

Kingdom. All competitors were assessed on a number of flair criteria including originality,

variety, smoothness of routine, skill and difficulty, music interaction, entertainment and

overall performance.



SKYY Vodka created the SKYY Flair Global Challenge in partnership with the World Flair

Association (WFA). Their objective was to reward the best of the flair bartending

community, while making this growing sport more accessible by highlighting the glamour,

spectacle and skill of flair. With the rise in popularity of cocktails across the world, SKYY
Vodka is passionate about raising the standard and quality of cocktail and bar experiences,

and the art of flair is an important part of this enjoyment.

About the World Flair Association (WFA)
The World Flair Association was formed in 2007 by founding members of the Flair Bartenders Association (FBA) which
disbanded last year. The association has already established itself as and is dedicated to its mission of helping to teach the art
of flair, grow the sport of freestyle bartending, and support all styles of performance bartending in a safe and fun manner. WFA
bartenders work at all types of clubs, pubs, restaurants, and bars from small local establishments to major destination resorts
