The survey ‘tanks and spaces annual’ applies to this vessel. The survey
includes internal overall examination. For areas with general breakdown of the
protective coating, close up examination and thickness measurements shall be
carried out to an extent sufficient to determine both general and local corrosion
levels.   For areas found with substantial corrosion extended thickness
measurements shall be carried out before the survey is credited and as
completed.

due to a serious damage when it
appears a piston failure had occurred

however, it is considered that the
engine will require renewal of all major
parts.

Engine Control Room
The engine control room is located
within     the     machinery       space
incorporating the main switchboard
(440v / 100v ), together with engine and
auxiliary engine control.
The vessel is not Classed for
unmanned operation of the engine
room and 24hr watch keeping is
maintained.

Refrigeration Plant
The refrigeration plant consists of a
primary system with 3 screw type
compressors driven by electric motors
operating with Freon R22 refrigerant
gas    and    a   secondary    system
incorporating brine with 3 circulating
pumps and cargo hold fans consisting
of 10 sets of supply and 10 sets
exhaust.

hold temperatures during the last cargo
transit were being maintained at about -
25ºC.

Note: The port side No. 3 reefer
compressor was non-operational due to
a defective lubricating oil pump. The

reefer plant was not working and the
reefer plant was being operated
manually.

1.6    Cargo Spaces
      The vessel was noted to be fitted with 4 insulated cargo holds,
      each with three cargo spaces, an upper tween deck space (A), a
      tween deck space (B), and a lower hold (C).

      Cargo holds were not inspected as the holds had not been
      cleaned and ventilated prior to discharge of the last cargo.

      Each cargo hold was served with a hatchway, overall size 7.7m x
      6.0m.

      Each hatchway was covered with steel fabricated rolling hatch
      covers opening to forward and aft and operated with a hydraulic
      motor and chains.

1.7   Cargo Derricks

      The vessel is fitted with 2 goal post type gantry structures located
      on the bulkhead between cargo hold Nos. 1 and 2 and on the
      bulkhead between cargo hold Nos. 3 and 4.

      Each gantry structure is fitted with two cargo derricks extending to
      forward and aft, four derricks serving the four cargo holds, each
      fitted with cargo winches manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy
      Industries Ltd type SB508V3, hydraulically operated radial piston
      type capacity 3 tons x 80.0m per minute.

      Each derrick was noted with a 5.0 ton capacity safe working load.
1.8   LSA and Fire Fighting Equipment

      Main items of LSA and FFE as follows.

      Lifeboats 26 person two off port and starboard.

      Inflatable liferafts two off on boat deck, one located on forecastle.

      Emergency fire pump located in steering gear compartment.

      Fire and GS pumps two off located in engine room.

      Fireman’s outfits two off.

      CO2 system for engine room and cargo holds.

      Paint store water sprinkler system.
