mjunction operating at the cutting edge of Information Technology and the Internet, is a 50:50 venture promoted by SAIL and
TATA Steel. Founded in February 2001, it is today not only India’s largest eCommerce company (having eTransacted worth
over Rs.90,000 crores till date) but also runs the world’s largest eMarketplace for steel. The steel and coal supply chain in
India has been transformed by mjunction, which has ushered in Efficiency, Transparency and Convenience to the way steel
and coal, is bought and sold. Similar transformational change is being sought to be made in the automobile industry and in
the sale of branded products with the launch of autojunction and straightline respectively.

Business volume of the company in terms of Transaction Value has soared from Rs 94.35 crores in FY’02 to Rs 24,854
crores in FY’11, registering a spectacular CAGR of 86%.

established a national footprint with offices at 12 locations all over the country. Starting out with a team of less than six

                                    Objective: to spread basic computer education for empowering people free of cost,
                                     which would lead to self sufficiency for their own and the growth of their communities
                                    ejunction started computer and spoken English courses for peons and security
                                     guards employed at TATA Centre. In addition a set of teachers from various NGO’s
                                     were also trained so that they could in turn impart computer education to the needy
                                    28 batches with over 1050 students have successfully completed the Basic Course in
                                     Computer education including use of Internet and English communication out of
                                     which 75 have been SC/ST youth. ejunction is also trying to help them use their new
                                     gained knowledge in an effective manner

In FY ‘05 mjunction was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certification by Det Norske Veritas, Netherlands. In FY ‘07 the ISO
9001:2000 certification awarded to eight of its branches namely, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bhilai, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Rourkela,
Chennai and Durgapur The certification covers the Quality Management System Standards of the company for: eSales,
eSourcing, Channel Financial Services and Software Solution Services.

The Company was awarded the ISO 27001 certification for information security in FY ’08 and re-certified in 2011.

The Technology department of the company was been awarded the prestigious CMMI Level 3 certification by the Software
Engineering Institute (SEI) in May 2009. The Maturity Level 3 (ML3) determines that the organization is in “DEFINED” level
of process area implementation and implemented processes are institutionalized in the organization.

mjunction has constantly been striving for Business Excellence, with best practices being followed in all functional areas. To
keep itself in the forefront, the company institutionalized the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM), which is based on the
internationally recognized Malcolm Balridge Model. It provided the company with a methodology for setting goals and

         Competition for Business Simulation 2006

    ▪    The Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi conferred the ‘Bhartiya Shiromoni Puraskar’ to Mr Viresh Oberoi,
         Managing Director of mjunction and a “Gold Medal” to mjunction in recognition of enhancing the image of the
         Country in 2006

    ▪    Enterprise Procurement System (EPS) an innovative and revolutionary application offered by mjunction
         was recognized in January 2008, by the Ministry of Finance, when they awarded the Rourkela Steel Plant
         (SAIL-RSP) the Gold medal for implementing EPS. EPS adds substantial value to the procurement process
         of PSUs as it eliminates wastage and saves time.

    ▪    In August 2009, mjunction was adjudged the top 25 innovative companies in India by the Tata Group. A case study
         to this effect was published on mjunction by the Tata group in association with Tata Management Training Centre,
         Pune in a book titled ‘INNOVATION and INNOVATIVENESS ~ The Tata Experience’.

    ▪    mjunction found its pride of place among the 25 top most promising eCommerce Companies in the
         November 2009 issue published by ‘The Smart Techie’ - India's first tech magazine for IT professionals
         promoted by siliconindia - a business and technology magazine published from Fremont, California
         encompassing business, technology and entrepreneurship.

    ▪    mjunction won the first prize in the small and medium category in an annual Eastern Region Quality Award Contest
         conducted by CII for the most significant contribution to Total Quality Management (TQM) for FY09-10.
