20/20 Show Guidelines & Requirements
20th Street Art Gallery is now accepting applications for the NEW 20/20 Show.
Participating artists will create 20 small artworks, each 8”x8”. All pieces must present a collective theme
when hung; however, pieces should stand-alone and will be available for sale individually. This is a juried
show, judged by three independent judges not affiliated with the gallery. All decisions are final.
All applications will be given equal consideration. Judging criteria: creativity, originality, technique &
execution, salability; based on sample submitted.
• Applicants not following entry protocol could be disqualified. LATE APPLICATIONS NOT ACCEPTED.
Submit a completed application form along with an original 8”x8” sample in your chosen medium (on
paper, panel, board) [3-D artists must submit an actual sample]; four (4) photos of past work; and a non-
refundable $25 application fee. Applications due no later than Saturday, August 29, 2009.
Samples will be retained until accepted artists have delivered final 20 pieces.
Theme Examples: Be creative!! A theme helps tie all the work together.

• Ideas from past shows • Pets/Animals • Landmarks • Abstracts
Accepted Mediums: No photography or digital art. All pieces must be same medium.
• Oil/Acrylic • Mixed Media • Collage • Glass
• Ceramic • Metal/Wire • Watercolor
(If you have questions regarding your medium, contact the gallery. All panels must have finished edges.)
Pricing: All work will be for sale. Panels will be sold individually. Although each artist sets their own
selling price, we recommend a price between $75 and $250. All pieces should be priced the same.
o Monday, July 27, 2009 – Applications available online (www.20art.net) or at gallery.
o Saturday, August 29 – Application Deadline
o Friday, September 4 – Notification of acceptance (accepted artists will be contacted by
phone or email). Panels may be picked up at gallery Wednesday thru Saturday,
September 9 thru September 12.
o Thursday, October 1 - Work In Progress Reception
o Saturday, October 24 – Deadline for finished artwork delivered to gallery. No partial
deliveries, all pieces must be delivered together. NO WET PAINTINGS!
o Wednesday, November 11 - Show Opens
o Thursday, November 12 – Artists Reception for family, friends, buyers
o Saturday, November 14 & December 12 - 2nd Saturday Receptions
o Thursday, December 24 – Show Closes
• There will be a $50 participation fee for all accepted artists regardless of medium. Gallery will provide
each artist with 25 8”x8” panels. (All participating artists must use panels provided by gallery.) Panels
can be shipped at artist’s expense. Standard gallery contract will apply (50/50 split). Signed contracts
must be on file for all participating artists.
• All artwork must be original and produced only by the accepted artist – no collaborations.
• Additional details will be provided upon acceptance.
