Key Skills

I have been involved with several .NET projects, using ASP.NET, WinForms and Windows
Workflow, written in C#, using all versions of .NET.
SQL Server
Most of the projects I’ve worked have used SQL Server as a back end database. I’m familiar
with database design, T-SQL, stored procedures and optimisation.
I have developed with Delphi for many years and have a thorough knowledge of the VCL,
component creation and object-oriented development. I have used Delphi to create complex
Windows applications, a suite of ActiveX controls and COM objects.
I have developed several personal websites, using PHP and MySQL. These include my
personal site, the Random Pub Finder, and my local residents' association.
Metastorm BPM
As well as helping to develop the Metastorm product, I have developed and maintained
several large processes. I also have experience of integration work with .NET, primarily
through the use of my FreeFlow .NET toolkit.
Other Languages and Technologies
I have experience of web services, C++, JScript, XML, XSLT, XPath, HTML, CSS, spatial
databases, JQuery, Google Maps and Virtual Earth.

Jan 2010 to present
Freelance developer

July 2009 to Jan 2010
GGP Systems
eGovernment Team Leader
I led a small team of developers building the web based mapping and gazetteer system at a
leading GIS company producing software for local government and emergency services.

March 2006 to June 2009
Process Mapping
System Architect
Design, development and maintenance of several large Metastorm BPM processes along with
integration work with ASP.NET including AJAX, Windows Workflow and SQL Server, working
for several clients worldwide. Our major client used GPS enabled phones to track the location
of their trucks. I used the data captured from these phones to render the route of the trucks on
Google Maps and Street View, along with calculating expected arrival times and highlighting
routes that were behind schedule. One of our other projects was the development of an
ASP.NET website and back-end technology for a reverse auction website. I also developed
several add-ons for Metastorm BPM using .NET technologies, including a tool for
automatically generating HTML documentation for a process using XSLT and an ASP.NET
web application to render graphical representations of the progress of a process. I also
maintained the Process Mapping website.

March 2004 to March 2006
Applications Developer
My main responsibility was the complete redevelopment of the company’s flagship risk
management product as a C# WinForms application interacting with a C++ backend via XML.
I also helped maintain the existing Delphi code base.

parts of the e-Work system through several release cycles. My main development work was
the process designer and Outlook integration. I also designed and developed a series of
ActiveX components for the creation of custom client applications. Other work involved
creating a snap-in for Active Directory and importing HTML forms. I gained experience of SQL
