ABOUT ST.KATHERINES....

Whether you are seeking a residential care Home for yourself or loved one, you can
rest assured of a warm and understanding welcome at St.Kathrines Residential care
Home.

We pride ourselves on providing the best care for elderly and disable people in need
of care or assistance with the tasks of daily living.

The welfare of residents is assured by our skilled team of committed Carers,
combined with professional expertise, and complemented by a pleasant and friendly
manner.

Conveniently located in Southampton, the home provides a homely and welcoming
environment.

The home provides accommodation to twenty four Residents within the categories of
older persons over fifty five, dementia and older persons with mental health. The
home offers accommodation in a range of single and double rooms over three floors

St.Kathrines has a stair lift to all three levels of the home enabling Resident to access
to the entire home. The home has a large central lounge and dining room .

To the front of the home is a car parking area and to the rear of the property is a large
well-maintained picture garden, which is accessible to all Resident.

The home is situated close to local facilities and is a short journey away from
Southampton.

The Policy of the Home is to encourage independence Act at all times

St.Katherines and it's staff are dedicated to providing resident's with privacy, dignity,
fulfillment, choice and respect. We aim to provide quality, individually tailored care
within a secure relaxed and homely environment.

St.Katherines promote and encourage social environment and therefore we do not
restrict visiting hours to certain times of the day.

The Home complies with the Care Standards Act, Health and Safety & Fire
Regulations, Safety is paramount, a fire procedure is well rehearsed with staff
receiving specialist training every six months

Nursing Homes are regulated by Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI),
St.Katherines consistently achieves a 3 STAR rating out of 4, and constantly strives to
improve our service by listening to our Residents and Families and implementing new
ideas.

Inspection reports for St.Katherine are in the public domain and are published on the
CSCI web site at : www.csci.org.uk

The proprietors said: "Inspection is the main way in which CSCI assesses the quality
of the service provided to people. It is also the main tool that is used use to raise
standards in care services, to at least the level of the National Minimum Standards set
by the Department of Health."

A four-point scale is used to indicate the extent to which standards have or have not
been met:

4 - standard exceeded (commendable)
3 - standard met (no shortfalls)
2 - standard almost met (minor shortfalls)
1 - standard not met (major shortfalls)

Care for our Residents
Our approach to care for our residents is based on the proposition that each person is
an individual with particular needs, likes and dislikes, our residents families and their
carers are actively encourage to be involved in our care planning process.

Service users are more than welcome to bring personal belongings for their room such
as photographs and ornaments or pieces of furniture, providing space allows and they
meet with health and safety regulations, family and friends are also welcome to visit
their loved one in our care at any time



Residential Care
We offer a quality care service for elderly people needing help with daily activities,
including assistance with mobility, dressing and washing, medical input is always
available

Dementia care
One of the most common mental infirmities in older people is dementia related
illnesses, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, which causes confusion, our specialist team
provides highly specialised advice,
Home Cooking
Based on nutritional values, our kitchen team prepare a variety of delicious home-
cooked dishes using quality ingredients, planning regular meals around nutritional
needs and any service user’s particular dietary requirements, of course, we also serve
tea, coffee, drinks, home baking and snacks whenever required

CARING FOR EVERY CULTURE

We welcome Residents from every cultural or ethnic background, if you require
special menus for religious, cultural or dietary needs, our care team will be delighted
to discuss your requirements with you, we will also endeavour to ensure you are able
to observe and practice your particular religious or cultural beliefs during your stay

ACTIVITIES
Activities are key part of daily life at our homes, and assist us in delivering the
holistic care that helps our Residents feel at home

Activities are developed to match hobbies and interests and the care staff take great
pride in really getting to know the Residents. Our staff are very experience at
