                            Locker Room Campaign
When Laura Meikle Koch, one of Drexel Soccer's all-time greats, lost her battle with lung cancer in the
Spring of 2008, her family and friends made a commitment, along with the Drexel Athletic Department
to find a way to properly honor her life and her enduring memory.

Before the team's opening game of the 2008 season, Head Coach Ray Goon, along with Laura's husband
Steve, and the Meikle family announced that each year a player would be chosen to wear Laura's #9 jer-
sey based on that person displaying the traits that defined the way Laura lived her life, and the way she
played the game.

In addition to honoring Laura through the #9, it is important to ensure that her story is forever a part
of what it means to play women's soccer at Drexel. The Laura Koch Memorial Locker Room will serve as
the home of Dragons soccer. Every woman who chooses to play for Drexel and every recruit and parent
that visits Drexel, will learn about Laura's remarkable spirit, and her tremendous commitment and con-
tributions to the program and to her family and friends.

In order to make this project a reality, the Koch & Meikle families, and the Drexel athletics family is
looking for your support. The women's soccer locker room will undergo a complete renovation; which
will not only provide a fitting facility to honor Laura's memory, it will also contain a wall of recognition
that tells Laura's story and list all of the names of the people like you who contribute to this campaign.

We invite you to make an outright gift, or commit to a pledge over a 3 year period to make the Laura
Meikle Koch Locker room campaign successful, and ensure that her memory will endure in the everyday
lives of Drexel Women's soccer players.
