Overview of the estate
The Shelthorpe Estate in the Loughborough area is managed by Nicola March Housing
Officer as part of a portfolio of 712 properties. Attached is a map.

This estates falls within the Loughborough Shelthorpe Ward, the Loughborough
Southfields Ward, the Loughborough Outwoods Ward. The Ward Councillors for the

Area Narrative:
Shelthorpe is a large estate to the south of Loughborough made up of traditional streets
and narrow closes. There is a selection of shops on Ling road some of which are owned
by the council plus a children’s playground on Lingdale Close. The estate also benefits
from the nearby Tesco’s store, one of the largest supermarkets in Loughborough.
Narrative about property mix:
The councils stock includes a large percentage of family houses plus bungalows flats
and garages. There is also the Lingdale House Homeless Families Hostel with 14 units
available.

The Shelthorpe estate is a large estate with traditional roads that link cul-de-sacs to main
roads. The main road through the estate is Shelthorpe Road. There are council garages
located around the area.
