and their families
U.S. Bank pledges its support for its military employees through its participation in
the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support Program.
The ESGR, a Department of Defense organization, has created this program to inform
and educate employers about their rights and responsibilities toward employees who
serve in the National Guard and Reserve, and to recognize and reward employers who
go beyond the requirements of the law.
Richard Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer for U.S. Bank’s parent
company, U.S. Bancorp, signed the ESGR statement November 13. The ESGR Statement
of Support pledges that U.S. Bank recognizes and enforces the Uniformed Services
Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act, that U.S. Bank managers and supervisors
will have the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard
and Reserve and that it will support service members and their families in peace, in
crises and in war.
Also in November, U.S. Bank received the “Patriot Award” from the United States
Department of Defense. The Department of Defense gives the Patriot Award to
corporations who support employee participation in the National Guard
and Reserve Forces.

Receives $95 million in tax credit
to improve communities
USBCDE, LLC, U.S. Bank’s Community Development Entity (CDE), recently received
$95 million in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation authority from the U.S.
Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), bringing
its total allocation awards to date to $435 million. With this allocation, USBCDE will
continue to support its financing activities to for-profit and non-profit operating
businesses and developers of mixed-use real estate, including office, industrial, retail
and community facilities in distressed and underserved areas in low income
communities throughout the nation.
