					METHODS OF PAYMENT

Paying with Cash, Check or Credit Card

The Business Office accepts a number of methods of payment, including:

Cash
Cash payments must be made in person at the Business Office in the Wintergreen
Building. Please do not mail cash.

Personal check, Cashier’s check, or Money order
Check payments can be mailed in, paid in person at the Cashier’s Office or dropped
in the Dropped Box located on the left side of the Cashiers’ Office in the Wintergreen
Building.

All checks should be payable to Southern Connecticut State University and include
your name and your student Id number. Unidentifiable checks will be returned back
to the address on the check.

Personal checks returned from the bank as un-collectable would be assessed a
$50.00 service fee and prevent the student from payment by check in the future. A
block will be put onto a student’s account.

Credit Card
Visa, Master Card and Discover are all accepted for billed charges. Credit cards are
accepted in person at the Business Office, or online at www.southernct.edu (click on
SCSU Web Services) or by completing and returning your card authorization located
in your billing statement.

Tuition Payment Plan from Academic Management Services (AMS)

                                  Fall 2006 | Spring 2007
Southern Connecticut State University has a relationship with Academic Management
Services (AMS), an external vendor who handles Southern's monthly payment plan.
This payment plan option is available to those students and parents who find it more
convenient to make monthly payments.

You can use the AMS plan while waiting for financial aid, then cancel the plan when
your aid is awarded. You cannot use the plan to help pay for your Health
Insurance or to add add money to your Hoot Loot card. If you need health
insurance or wish to have funds on your Hoot Loot card, you must pay for this
separately from the AMS payment plan.

The AMS plan has a one-time non-refundable $45 application fee.

THE ONLY WAY TO SIGN UP FOR THE AMS PLAN IS BY CONTACTING AMS
DIRECTLY AT: www.tuitionpay.com OR CALL 1-800-635-0120.
