Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
and First Aid Courses
When you register, choose a CPR/AED component, and/or a First Aid component, and the appropriate materials for
the course(s) you are taking. Please use a separate CPR/First Aid registration card for each component (see p. 51).

To serve as a Level I* First Aider you will need                 REFUNDS
• Level I or Level II Adult and Child CPR/AED                    No refunds for cancellations made within 10 business days
• Level I Standard First Aid                                     of the course.

To serve as a Level II* First Aider you will need                REGISTRATION

• Sports Safety Training textbook - $12                          CPR and the First Aid classes are often offered consecutively to

REFUNDS
For cancellations made within 10 business days of the course,    LEVEL I AND LEVEL II FIRST AIDER
no refunds will be issued.                                       Level I First Aid is not a prerequisite for Level II. These are
                                                                 different certification levels. Although each level requires the
                                                                 same CPR/AED course, the First Aid course differs.

Level I Standard First Aid: All
CERTIFICATION: ARC Standard First Aid (valid three years)
For participants seeking training in first aid as a component for Level I First Aider requirements.
         • Demonstrate proper first aid procedures             • Know how to control bleeding            • Properly apply a sling

         NOTE:       Written tests are required to receive certification

         PREREQUISITE: Current CPR/AED certification. Participants may complete a CPR/AED course the same day
                       as the selected Standard First Aid course to meet this prerequisite.

Level I CPR/AED Challenge Course: All
CERTIFICATIONS: ARC Adult and Child CPR/AED (valid one year)
For individuals who wish to recertify in Level I or Level II Adult and Child CPR/AED without attending a full-length course.

         NOTE:       Includes written and skills tests. Challenge takes approximately one hour to complete, depending on
                     number of individuals present. Participants are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
                     Registration is required. Registrants must arrive at least one hour prior to end of class. Course text
                     is not required. No training or coaching is provided during these courses. The challenger is responsible
                     for reviewing the current skills before attempting a challenge. Individuals who do not possess a current
                     ARC certification may attempt a challenge only once. Unsuccessful participants will be referred to a full-
                     length course.
